I enjoy bean flicker and I thought this was better. Last years bells homebrew winner was a coffee pale and that was great as well. I think its more of a perception issue, if people tried this beer blindfolded, I would expect the feedback to be more positive.

I am mixed when it comes to coffee pale ales. But this one is not at all interesting to me. The base beer is bland and boring and the coffee addition doesn't add much to the beer.

I really like the Stone Mocha IPA but was not a fan of this or the Dark Horse CoffPA. I'm usually a fan of coffee in beer, this one really just didn't blow my skirt up.

For the record, I like coffee, I like pale ales and I like coffee in pale ales.

It's just my opinion that this mix wasn't good.

It was very limited in their release. I picked up a six pack last week. I love Founder's, they are my favorite brewery. Pale Joe is a good beer, but compared to other beers Founder's produces, its not one of their best.

Winner winner chicken dinner. Found a six pack. Hit the store off the beaten path. I know some people have mixed feelings about it but I have to feed my curiosity. Founders is my favorite brewery too so I try to taste everything they release. Chilln now. Right after this Zombie Dust. Had to get a six of Oracle too before it's gone. PC Pils next trip.

I've got a mixed opinion on coffee in ales, but here's my $0.02 : the overall problem I've had with coffee in ales is that I'm to used to a hop dominant finish in IPA's/PA's and most that have coffee finish with just the coffee flavor and this throws me off. Pale Joe seems to finish with a good blend of coffee flavor and some hoppy bitterness which I enjoy. Secondly the coffee flavor is reminiscent of a nice, quality cold coffee flavor which also works since the drinking temperature is cold as well. All this being said, I bought a six pack, and this was enough. I will not need to purchase any more as it is more of a unique beer that isn't something I'd be desiring after consuming a six pack.
