Well, just about every Founders release I see people saying they should've made Panther Cub again and have that in backstage series.

Looks like they just added it on tap. Curious to see how this one tastes...

I'm making this bitch kick tonight, so you'd better hurry to grab some before I drink it all!

Damn ... I wish they would've had it on while I was there last weekend! If I didn't work tmw, I'd make the 2.5 hour drive! Always a good time in Beer City USA!

The barleywine on tap tastes exactly like double crooked tree aged for a year. They must have bought the old kegs from dark horse and pawned it off as non BA bolt cutter.

P.S. I'm hammered from the BW and PC

Been drinking Panther Cub since 4pm. Between that and the Barleywine, life is good.

If Founders bottled it and put the Backstage brand with it, people would bitch about how disappointed they are and just ask when are they going to bring back CBS.

Not me, Panther cub gives CBS a true run for its money. Had it a couple weeks after black party last year...not sure how it lasted that long.

The maple aroma this beer gives off is orgasmic. It not as sweet and syrupy as CBS, the Porter gives it a drier finish, but oh my lord is it good shit. The barleywine is outstanding too. Big kick in the nuts outstanding. Drinking this beer, I can appreciate why they did a blend with BA and maple BA. So many layers.

That beer would melt faces all over the country if they backstaged it. Tasty stuff.

Thanks for the heads up. Enjoyed Panther cub; just as drinkable as I remember. Also, BA Red' Rye was fantastic.

Not to speculate but I wouldn't be surprised if we see Panther Cub Backstage soon. I made mention of this in the Smoked Porter thread as I believe it's release wasn't quite planned. I mean, they brew it for the first time a few weeks before they decide to release it and only do it as a Michigan release (I mean, come on, I don't think it was the hardest brew for them to make). Founders likely has a 2+ year roadmap on Backstage series beers (Sweet Repute in barrels for 16 months was likely planned a few months before). Maybe PC took a little too long to come around? Now we're seeing a sneak peek?

I had this at the black party last year. just as good this year, and would be a an awesome backstage series. I haven't bought the smoked porter or sweet repute (after the drainpour mango mag)
