Just picked up a 4-pack for $9.99 (vs $8.99 for the old 6-pack format) and cracked a bottle. The price increase sucks but this beer is spectacular fresh.

$11.99 here in Charlotte. Even at the notorious Total Wine. I have to say I am going to pass on this one at that price. Love 'ya Red Rye Pale & Founders, but no thanks.

Finally had this last night and thoroughly enjoyed it! The rye flavor is very well-balanced with the hop profile. The only thing I didn't like was the price. My TW had it at $12.99 /4pk. I won't be buying more, but wanted to try this while it was reasonably fresh.

My Wegman's (Dickson City, PA) had it priced at $14.99/4pack..... No thanks.

$10 says that everyone that's complaining about the price increase realizes this point next year and no one bitches.

I'd buy 4pks at $9.99 all day! It's funny how you look at prices differently based on your location.

So, is FBS not getting the lowered price/increased format? Last I heard it was moving to cheaper 6pks.

The liquor store down the street is trying to sell the new 4 packs of these for $17.99!! When the six packs that sat on the shelves forever were $10.99. Riiiiiiiight.

You heard correctly, but then Founders nixed it when they announced year round All Day a few months ago.

When I went to Florida last year and Cleveland this year, I had no trouble finding single 12oz of this beer. Are they going to produce less, now? Because it's pretty good and all, but I would resist the urge to "whale" it if I were them...

This isn't a whale kind of beer. The beer pretty much loses all flavors within 60 days and must be drank fresh. They have made it a seasonal release in bottles now to ensure freshness. You can still find it on tap though year round.

$12.99 at TW, I'll have to pass. Per bottle/oz. it's more expensive then Sculpin and I'd much rather have Sculpin if I feel like buying an overpriced IPA.

$12.99 in DC yesterday. Big time pass from me too. It was great at $10 for a 6 pack, but they went and pulled a Green Flash IPA on me. Never went back to to that one either...

    Let me reiterate:

By making it more expensive and apparently producing less of it, I hope that the brewery's intention is not to try to create more demand for it. In my opinion, that would be a bad idea for a beer that's not all that amazing.

I just saw this at my local shop for $13.99 a 4-pack and I was dumb-founded, no pun intended. I've been a huge Founders fan in the past, but this just pissed me off. From now on, it's FBS, KBS & RIS only for me. Bad decision on Founders part to take advantage of craft beer newbies and put this beer in a four pack.

As other's have said, I don't think founder's increased the price. I just picked up a case for $35 or roughly $6 a 4 pack.

I saw Red Rye PA for sale at Plum Market, Meijer and Whole Foods... for $12!!!! And these stores are always cheaper than the smaller beer stores. So it must be $14 to $15 at those stores. I understand wanting to sell in 4 packs since selling 6 packs was pretty much a break even point, but then to raise it from $10 to $12!!! I bought only one 4 pack. $12 is just not worth it to me to buy more, and I might not even buy any come next year.

Not to dwell on a changed subject, but Julio's in Westborough Mass. had a huge stack of fourpacks of Founders Breakfast Stout on sale for $8.49 three weeks ago. A ton of the stuff hit a lot of local stores in Western Mass. then too, where they were commonly offered for as low as $10. Dunno why so much would suddenly show up in August if it's supposed to be a fall-winter release.

Red's Rye is out here now. I did not find it to be better than SN Flipside, which is being offered for as low as $13/12pack. I dunno, but I tend to prefer paying $1.08 per beer rather than $2.75 each for something about as good, if $11/4 is going to be the Red's Rye going rate. But thank you Founders for making it possible for me to get a fourpack of the #22 rated beer in the USA (FBS) for only $2.50 a bottle!
