The baby is still on the Founders website.

    What is the story?

I don't understand the issue with the original label. Underage kids aren't going to pay $8-10 for a 4 pack of beer, baby or not on the label. It doesn't encourage underage drinking, nor would it mislead someone into putting it into their infant's bottle.

Archaic remnants of Prohibition laws. This kind of stuff just needs to go away. Founders is clearly not advocating that children, of any age, consume their beers. That would leave a shortage for the rest of us and we can't have that now can we.

    Smart move.

I always figured the reason Kentucky Breakfast Stout sold out instantly while regular Breakfast Stout sat on the shelves was due to the former having the less offensive label.

The new label is cool. I think they should have the Backwoods Bastard dude sitting at a table in an old dilapidated log cabin pouring a stout into a glass, with bacon & eggs on a plate and having a shit eatin' grin on his face while pouring the bottle.

I hate this. Pandering to the minority because the majority remains silent.

It better be an awesome fall in NH! Live Free or Die my ass. That baby was trying to earn it's keep for the family, now he is out of a job!

Ah well. Unfortunate, but it's not the label that counts in the end

It's probably not going to break the business or be the deciding factor between being a profitable business at the end of the year. But, to be able to sell one of your most popular offerings in a state that is typically very high in beer consumption per person seems like a pretty easy business decision especially with all of the effort there has been to get FBS into the state with the baby label. Throw NH a bone once in a while!!

It's nice to see a nod to the baby and maintaining the overall design. Regardless, it's the liquid that counts, and this is damn good stuff.

I know this has been discussed at nauseum, but what was the specific idiotic reason for this? I remember it being as asinine as anything I have ever heard, but I don't recall the details.

"Brewed for us; but if it's going to cost us money we'll surely cave to the pressure of a ridiculous law thats already been overturned."
Founders sold out long before this and San Miguel. The Founders today is nothing like the Canal Street Brewing Co. that spawned it, or even the Founders that initially emerged from that. The beers taste different, the culture has changed and the bottom line now is money. Thus the $20 Backstage Series beers that ought to warrant a price tag half of that.
Also, there is no law in Michigan preventing the baby label. I don't know what the "my home state banned me" thing is all about. The only 'ban' michigan had was on Flying Dog's "Raging Bitch" which was dealt with about 4-5 years ago.

As sad as I am to see Freedom of Speech lose again, I can't say I'm not excited at the thought of finally getting bottles in NH

Are we sure this is even a real thing, though? I see nothing about it on the website in their news, and the OP cited no sources. This could be a big prank for all I know.

call the number on the label. It's sound pretty grim and I still think it's a hoax but not on the OP's part
