Got Doom, no KBS, having Mango Mama at TH to soothe the sadness.

It's fantastic right now, probably best batch I've had

Amazed at how quickly the Doom kicked. Less than. 15 minutes. Thankfully I was able to grab both Bolt Cutter and KBS. Surprisingly Bolt Cutter was much better than I recall from previous tastings.

Kind of sad that I traded my last away...

Honestly, yeah, what a joke. No shame at all towards B and the B. They did a fantastic job! But shit, I was maybe the 20th person in line and got a Doom. Didn't get any KBS or Bolt Cutter. That was all gone. Heard one woman say that KBS tasted similar to Leinie"s Vanilla Porter, "but not as good". Fuck it, these things aren't worth the time and money anymore. There was better beer on tap next door and no wait.

Was in the area, stopped by at 5 to score a glass of Doom....oops a glass of Bolt Cutter....oops at least a KBS...oops.

Told myself while leaving that standing around in the rain with a plastic frat party glass of rare beer (with no refills 'cause it's all gone) isn't really what I'm looking to do these days. And then I felt better.

I'm confused. We're chastising someone for saying Big Eddy Vanilla Porter is better than KBS and then saying all the beer at Bulldog is better than KBS?

This complaint is easier to understand. There were 12 beers on tap, but only the three rare ones were worth having. Except that other people that clearly didn't didn't deserve them as much drank them all. And the bar made it rain.

What are you confused about? People that A) compare KBS to Vanilla Porter and B) think Vanilla Porter are better than KBS are f-ing idiots. I know, I'm being beer snobby with that statement, but I'm sick of the trend chasers and posers and I'm not ashamed to admit it.

And yeah, Bulldog had better beer, not all (which I never said), than most on tap the B and the B.

Went there expecting to miss the big three. (KBS, Doom, Bolt Cutter).
At least a couple of generous BA's gave me a taste of Doom & Bolt Cutter (thanks Joseph & Mike!).

    I settled for FIS x2 & Enjoy by x2.
    The food was excellent.
My wife & son were happy with the awesome birthday meal, so everthing was good.
I have to admit, I was surprised by the Sunday crowd.
just goes to show how big three craft beer scene has gotten lately.

    Cheers!

Respectfully disagree with the initial statement. Waldo's special ale, double trouble, FIS, rye of the tiger, Let It Ride not worth having? They emptied the lines around 630 and filled a few extra glasses of Doom, KBS and Boltcutter (I was lucky enough to get the latter 2) for those who stuck around. Don't know that those who got it didn't deserve it but I'm guessing people took more than necessary and did not share the wealth.

Edit: forgot to add Enjoy By to that list

Agreed, some good beers there. But fighting for a seat with a plastic glass, in an overcrowded field of my fellow bearded comrades on a rainy cool Sunday didn't pull me in. I'll grab those ones in a better setting, hopefully.

Not complaining, just one BA's take on things. Ultimate conclusion? The scene is crazy these days.

I'm finding all the complaints slightly amusing. Come on folks what did you expect? A hyped up event at a hyped up restaurant, what could go wrong?

Did anyone make it to the tap takeover at Pizza Luce' St. Paul last week? I busted in at 11am on Tuesday, fresh off a flight from Chicago, only to be told the KBS 1/4 or 1/6 barrel kicked in 2 hours (it took 2 hours???) the night before... FBS and Imperial Stout did the trick for breakfast pizza but still haven't had the illusive KBS on tap this year only bottle.
