I don't quite understand the thinking handing tickets out earlier, it only means people will be standing in line the night before the event instead of getting there during the early morning....

That being said I'll be in line early with bottles to share, if its cold as hell I will be wearing my blaze orange suit from hunting.

I'm now starting to do math that involves two nights at a hotel and I'm not happy about it. I'm envisioning the look of disgust I got when I turned the corner to Founders a couple years ago on KBS day at 4am to wash over my face again.

Only positive part is it gives them 4 hours to get their shit together and actually get people through the line before 9pm

It's worse than that. Not only is the wait earlier, but it will be continuous. Instead of getting our tokens and grabbing a bite to eat at the pub before having to wait in line several more hours again for bottles like we did last year, we'll have to wait in line from before doors open until our number is called for purchase. For me, that was about 7 hours last year.

The way I'm reading this is you wait in line to hand in the order form. Then, four hours later, they start calling numbers to pick up your stuff that they have put together. I don't really see the waiting in line after dropping off your order form.

    This.

This will be my first 4elf, so maybe that's why I actually read Dark Horse's post before commenting about waiting times.

Detroit crew, if anyone can help grab a couple bottles for me I'd be most appreciative, and can grab them in January when I'm in town for the NAIAS. If you can help out, shoot me a BM.

    *fingers crossed*

My question is what time can people actually start the line? They say that they'll pass out order forms at 6am, and nothing else about the formation of the line.

I can see this becoming just like the Damon/Flora release at HF. 300 people creeping up the road in their cars at 8:30am to get in line.

    Craziness.

that is hilarious. did not know that.

had a decent time last year and wouldn't mind going again. last year i arrived at 9am and it wasn't a crazy line, beer garten was filled but maybe about 50 people outside of the gates (turned out to be number 250-300 i forget). anyway being that the new line is now 6am, it's beginning to be a nay.

No, you're right. The blog post mentioned that orders would be processed starting at 7AM, which I guess means that Dark Horse Employees will start putting together orders in advance of 11PM when they will be ready to make the cash transactions. Reading comprehension fail on my part, but processed is generally used to mean that money had changed hands and the goods/services have been delivered or are in process.

They left it off the original list, but there is raspberry sour they are releasing bottles of also. Fingers crossed it doesn't taste anything like the lambeaks.
