Well at least Hop Knot for sure. Found this out thanks to azdback's post in the What beer are you drinking now #289 thread. He posted with some Hop Knot dated 7/31/13 For one thing, I just wanted to inform others that they are now dating cans. I'd assume the other beers in cans - Sunbru and Kilt Lifter - as well but I haven't been able to check those. Secondly, I wanted to ask a couple things. Does anyone know when they started dating their cans? And does anyone know if they are dating the bottles also? Second part is mostly just for curiosity's sake. I'm just amazingly thrilled to see what I consider the best AZ brewery now putting dates on their beers. Cheers all!
I am only liking and replying to this for one reason. It is one of only 4 threads on the front page right now that is not about something from Texas I wish more of the Southwest states were active on this forum.
I absolutely agree. At least you guys in Texas have a decent amount of thread activity in the SW forum. Most of the time the only thing concerning AZ is people asking where to go and what to get from here cause they are traveling through (even though a simple search would yield a plethora of info on the subject). In any case, thanks for the like and post haha.
I believe some AZ people do some their posting on facebook now. I am happy to see Hopknot with canning date on it. I will be buying more of it now.
Yep, AZ craft beer scene has a great Facebook presence. Much more of a AZ family atmosphere and great way to meet some great people.
Well thanks to a timely email response from Tim Neuman with Four Peaks, I was able to find out that Four Peaks is indeed freshness dating both cans and bottles. Bottle dates will be on the neck of the bottles (in black ink as per the usual), and can dates on the bottoms. This started around the end of June/beginning of July but they have opted to not make a formal statement about it until the bugs were all worked out. Just super awesome to see a local brewery freshness dating everything now. I hope it becomes the trend with the majority of AZ breweries. I guess I'm not on Facebook enough at all to notice any of the craft beer scene presence. Any chance you can direct me to some of the good pages to follow or people to friend?
Arizona Craft Beer Lovers Great people talking about great beer. Trust me, it will keep you coming back to Facebook.
Glad that they're finally doing it. On a few occasions over the years I've emailed them about a question and they always responded except for the times I asked why they weren't freshness dating their cans and bottles. The only thing that irritated me more from them was their lame explanations for why they "can't" bottle their delicious Hefe-Weizen.
