    Hey guys,

I have a family member who is staying in France temporarily. She took a trip to Belgium and bought back a few bottles to ship back to the US.

She has the 6 bottle shipper and was told at the post office it would be quite a bit more expensive than we expected. Is there a particular shipping service that she could request is most efficient to send beer overseas? Got an estimate from Fedex online and it's steep also.

She could check the 6-bottle shipper on her flight back, but she'll be flying and traveling throughout Europe prior to coming back to the US, so that isn't an option.

    Thanks!

Yeah it's either going to be horrifically expensive to ship itself, or you bring it back on a flight. Is anybody visiting her that she could send it back with?

60/70€ is about average for a 6 shipper from France. Cheaper than adding to your check in baggage.

I recently had to mail some things to Germany and I found the USPS to be much cheaper than FedEx and UPS. Like 40% cheaper. It's still expensive (and not super quick), but it was a better option.

Well that is not entierly true. USPS is way cheaper but it takes 10-14 days contra 2-5 days for FedEx.

If you want to send cheaper with FedEx you should find someone that has a set up FedEx/UPS account and send it with them. You will have a disscount of 80-60%.

USPS is still a very good Option!

10-14 days to Western Europe feels like a long time via USPS. I think it's typically more like 7-10

In my experience it varies a lot.
