Heading up from MA to Franconia this Saturday for a rugby tournament. Any good local packge stores / bars for craft beer? Is it possible to get any of the VT unicorns (Heady, Hill Farmstead, Lawson's etc.) in the area? Cheers, Jeff
schilling brewing co in littleon just north is worth a stop. Great pizza and tasty brew. Waynes in N. Woodstock has a great selection of beer just south of the notch, just be careful on dates if you are leaning towards hoppy beer. They always have a good stock pile of stoneface which is nice. Biedermans in plymouth on the way up will have some local drafts and chase st market above it can have some decent beers as well. I have heard black mt burger co in lincoln has some good draft beer but i have not been myself.
I'd also recommend the Biedermans/Chase St combo in Plymouth. Good selection there, and it's only about 5 mins off I93... Prosit!!
Bite the bullet and drive up to Hill Farmstead from Franconia... It's worth it and their beers will beat anything you can get in shops nearby. It's about 60 miles on 93/91 to get there
Depending on where your coming from the south. Nashua has a CBC, Bert's Better Beer in Hooksett. Then a second for Wayne's in N Woodstock. Great selection and not too far from Franconia. Both Woodstock Station and if One Love has opened are breweries in area. Then pick IP some Most cans. Especially Iron Mikes Pale. Stone face males great beer, Kelsen, and I hear From the Barrel is doing great stuff. Also thought I heard about a really good new brewery doing crowlers near Derry NH
One Love brewery just opened up in Lincoln right next to Loon Mtn. Also Woodstock brewery in Woodstock...plus everything else other people said
As usual, BA's nailed it. Went to Wayne's, & got some Stoneface, Iron Mike's, & 603. Also managed to guilt someone into giving me a Heady @ the pitch. No chance I was driving an additional 120 miles to Hill Farmstead on top of a 3-hour drive, each way...plenty of good beer elsewhere....
