Is anyone having any luck trading this beer, even $4$ for other limited beers? I got two, then read things that make me believe I will hate it (artificial sweetners?!? :grimacing:).

Should I just find a hobo and give them to him?

I just drank one and it's tasty, though it reminds me of hazelnut coffee from Sheetz. I'd say it's probably worth more to those who haven't had it than those who have.

I traded mine 1:1 for Westy 8 and both parties were happy.

I gave a cucumber saison + for a FMB +. I was more than pleased. Split it with some friends, it was a great beer, the hazelnut coffee is right on. theres a concern with "artificial flavoring" but when have you ever had hazelnut creamer in your coffee made with all natural flavors? hope that helps

I thought it was pretty good, and I hate coffee. Split it with a ladyfriend, she will love it.

I first tried trading it for FFF stuff like Zombie Dust and Alpha King. Nothing. Then I put up another post just looking for locals. Crickets. I ended up sending as an extra to a good trader.

I did hear of one BA that had a deal in place to swap it for a bottle of Abyss. It's all in the timing, I guess.

Timing and distro area. Three Floyds market got plenty of FMB. We're still getting more in our bottle shops!

For what it's worth, I'm somewhat of a coffee snob. Black or nothing for me. I also have a severe aversion to artificial sweeteners which is why I'm afraid to open a bottle myself,

OP, there was a solid week or so that it seemed about 50% of the first two ISO:FT pages involved FMB (mostly for trade) to some extent. anyone who wanted it had ample opportunity to get it, so that might be why its tough to move it.. just my $0.02

And also, not stepping on Mordor's toes if he wants it, but if you have it after next week ill probably be able to work something out with you (no more cuc, sorry!) for some FL stuff

I liked all the other Backstage Series releases ... I didn't do enough research on this one :slight_frown:

Stop buying beer just to trade it.

Oh I read it just fine. It's pretty obvious you purchased these just because they were Founders limited releases (taste the rarity!), and now that you know what they are and you don't think you want it, you are looking to acquire something limited for them. Not even just trade them, but trade them for something limited, including creating a thread seeing what you might be able to get for them. This is precisely what is wrong with trading these days - people run out and purchase as much of every new release as they can, knowing they always have the safety net of trading for something else rare even if they don't actually like the beer.

If you don't think you'll even like the beer, why would you not just offer them up $4$ for locals and be done with it?

Since you seem to know my purchasing/drinking habits, you probably don't need to be told that I bought 1 bottle of Blushing Monk, drank it and enjoyed it. I bought 1 bottle of CBS, drank it and enjoyed it. I bought 1 bottle of Better Half, drank it and enjoyed it. I bought 4 bottles of KBS, drank 2 of them (the other 2 are still in my closet) and enjoyed them.

I bought FMB because I've enjoyed every Founders beer I've ever had. Unfortunately, this one turned out to be something I think I won't like. Rather than waste it, I was looking for constructive pointers on getting it into someone else's hands who might appreciate it and getting something comparable in return. Basically, I wanted to know what people felt was comparable.

Instead, I've gotten mostly fucking sanctimonious bullshit like your replies instead. I'm happy that you've never bought multiple bottles of a beer based on the reputation of the brewery and found out later you didn't like it. I envy the fact that your milk never spoils, you never stub your toe and your shit doesn't stink, too.

I don't see how asking for pointers on past trades for the is "what is wrong with trading these days". If that's what is wrong with trading these days, we might as well scrap the entire Beer Trading General/Help forum all together.

Get off your goddamn high horse and either offer useful suggestions or shut the fuck up.

PS - The Ashton Kutcher thing ... laaaaame.

If it's any help, I drink my coffee straight black too, despise artificial sweeteners, didn't taste anything artificial in this beer (that artificial sweetener is being blown WAY out of proportion, IMO), and thoroughly enjoyed this beer. Even if you pop it, decide you hate it, and would prefer to drainpour it, I don't think anyone's feelings will be particularly hurt. Seems there's still plenty of this stuff floating around out there.

If Founders had just sucked it up and barrel-aged this beer I'm sure you wouldn't hear any complaints...
