Hey Great Lake BA's, I have a friend going to Franklin IN in the next couple weeks and I was looking for any BA's in the area who couuld recommend a bottle shop that carries FFF and founders. Hoping to get my buddy to mule some beer back for me. Any input would be great!

If your buddy has the time, Parti-Pak on Stop 11 is about 20 minutes north of Franklin and IMHO has the best selection on the south side of Indy.

Pretty much what @mjn78 said. Payless Liquor at County Line and Madison is another solid choice, and Crown Liquor on Southport is a good choice too. All are within a few miles of one another, and about 15 minutes north of Franklin. My only reservation with Parti Pak is that they don't turn over inventory very fast, so be cautious with anything time-sensitive like IPAs.

In regards to your specific brewery requests... Founders is easy to come by most any place you could pick. Any standard beer they have out will likely be on shelves here. FFF is another story. Robert the Bruce and Pride & Joy are easy finds, but everything else is a crap shoot. Parti Pak will likely have a couple different bombers, and I've had luck with Crown and Payless too, and for some reason I seem to find different bombers at each location.

Not sure what styles you prefer, but there are some other breweries here worth trying like Daredevil, Sun King, Fat Head, etc.

I was impressed with sun king, GFJ and Osiris are both solid. I'll have to look into their lineup. Any small local can't miss bottles? I know in denver we have so many small breweries that get 0 distro but put out amazing beers, I'm sure there are some local faves in your neck too. The only thing I stay away from are sours, pedio doesn't agree with me.

feel free to send all your sours my way. :stuck_out_tongue:

As for local favorites, I'd look for the following, and I'm sure some other locals could chime in too...

    -Fat Head Head Hunter IPA
-Sun King Wee Mac (check their FB page, as they have a couple limited releases going now that are pub-only)
    -Anything Founders
-Whatever FFF bombers you can get your hands on
-New Day Meads and Ciders (I know, I know...)
    -Flat12 ipas and stouts
    -Triton ipas
-Boulevard and Hoppin' Frog if you don't get them
-Two Bros (I'm partial to Cane & Able, but most of their stuff is solid)
    -Upland Teddy Bear Kisses
-Most anything Dark Horse (1/2/3/4 stouts and maybe Dbl Crooked Tree should be around, at least at Parti Pak)
-New Holland Dragons Milk (and Dragons Milk with chilies if you can find it)
    -Smuttynose IPAs
    -Tyranena's Brewers Gone Wild series
-anything Bells if you don't get it (Two Hearted and Oberon just came out in cans, but they have a lot of bottles available too)
    -Daredevil Lift Off ipa
    -Sixpoint stuff

Most all of that can be found at any of the locations I mentioned. If your friend is willing to head into Indy a little further, he could grab you a growler from Bier (towards the north side), Outliers (downtown, but watch their hours) or Black Acre (east of downtown). All three are doing big things, but are only available in growlers.
