I've wondered that before, but what your describing sounds like batch variation in the enjoy by series, and accurate descriptions of batches of that beer that I've had from bottles (diff batches).

I think the issue was with the service and not the beer. This has happened where the bartended either ran out of a beer or were in a hurry and gave me something else.

Barley Browns is an Baker City, Oregon brewery that has been getting some good buzz from my Oregon friends.

I cannot count the number of times the mates and I ordered Jack and received God knows what. A few times, the bartender even showed us the bottle. I don't care if you dumped brown water into a Jack bottle or just poured from the wrong bottle, it's not what I ordered, and indubitably an inferior product.

Similarly, I've ordered Bombay Sapphire martini (neat, as there is no other way in my world view), and numerous times in different places and different states, even, I've gotten something else. Recently, the bartender admitted the swap with some high end Tanq, and explained, "I didn't think anyone would notice." If I were the type of fool not to notice the difference, I'd order well gin.

Oh, and I agree. If I am not completely convinced of the sanitation of tap lines, I refuse to order tap. I'm sure I miss a lot of good draft beer, but I am equally sure I miss a lot of "mold headaches." I've had enough of those to last a lifetime.

Barley Brown's Beer is the trade name of the brewing company, Pallet Jack IPA is one of our many beers. Thank you for giving it a try!
