Hi All-- So my wife and I are spending three days in Brussels next week and renting a car afterwards to head out of town--we have reservations at Brouwershuis and are planning to check out St. Bernardus and Westvleteren too. The next day (Tuesday) we were planning to stay somewhere near Fantome, but from what I can tell the bar there is only open on the weekends (anyone know if this is true or not?). Anyhow, if Fantome doesn't happen, I'm curious to hear recommendations as to what we should do the next day. We'll need to be back in Brussels on Wednesday by 3pm or so. Thanks for your help! A.
You and your lady into food and beer? If so... De Heren Van Liedekerke http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/2800/view=beerfly or De Bistronoom http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/26992/view=beerfly By far two of my favorite places in Belgium. De Heren is closer to Brussels and more of world class beer bar with great food. De Bistroom is a bit of a drive to the coast and more of a world class restaurant with really good beer and food pairings especially when it comes to seafood. I cannot reccomend either highly enough.
These are great recommendations--thanks so much. I'm guessing the bar at Fantome is indeed closed during the week? Might just have to rent a car on the weekend for a quick run out there...
