This just in from their Facebook page: You may want to make plans to come to the tap house tomorrow....After sending a few kegs to Indiana earlier this year, a brewery that shall remain nameless (Hint...FFF) has reciprocated and sent us 3 kegs of their beer.....Release of the first keg will be tomorrow....Mug club look for details in your email!
More news on Freedom's Edge from their Facebook page: Now that we have a lease in hand for our second location, we can let the Cat out of the bag. We found a building right in the center of Old Town Fort Collins, that was too good to pass up...and another historic building. It's small, but perfect for what we want to do. We plan on making this a pilot brewery where we do a lot of experimental small batch brews. We anticipate opening early 2014.
hopefully they can improve the steamboat imperial stout...bought a couple bottles in cheyenne a few days ago and they were gushers
I'm not a big fan of their regular line up, a Pale Ale and IPA, but their Blood Orange, Chili Beer, and California Common were quite good.
Gotta admit, I kinda hold it against brewers when their regular line-up offerings aren't solid and it really turns me off. I will definitely give Freedom's Edge a shot....but if they want to make it into my regular drinking rotation, it's gonna take more than them being something "new" to me. Not going to name brewery names here, but there's already a couple local FC breweries I have already turned the page on. Not that I don't ever give them a shot, but its random and sporadic when I do....and usually when I am at a spot I can buy flights from, so I don't have to commit to a full pour.
You could get lucky though. Seeing as they are going to use the FC location as a pilot brewery with lots of experimenting going on. Not a promise that things will go spectacularly but there's hope that what they come up with there will be at least interesting.
Wasn't impressed with what I had from them, and this is Ft. Collins not the state of Wyoming But always game to give another chance.
right on bill ! i read your review after the fact and should have known better at town and country supermarket liquors in cheyenne..after your review of black butte xxv i decided to crack one open and it made up for the edge problem
