New to the area, looking for a bottle shop. I'd love one close to home here as I've hit Bow Street and while it's solid, I was hoping for something closer to what I'm used to that gets new beers each week and has a great backstock (God I miss you Tipples tipplesbrews.com ). I know I'm not in as populated an area but the beer scene up here seems so much more established than Florida so I'm hopeful that I'm missing something.

I work up in Augusta right now, so up that way, or even down through Topsham/Brunswick as that's where the wife works, would be fine. Please, beer santa, all I want for Christmas is a place with selection and service!

Not sure about bottle shops as I frequent Portland, but for a tip as far as bars: the Broad Arrow Tavern attached to Harraseeket Inn a block from the LL Bean flagship had several Maine Beer Co bottles last night. I ordered a Weez (they also had Peeper and Red Wheelbarrow) and was surprised to see on the tab that it was $6.40, very little if any bar markup there!

Portland is really going to be your go to for premier bottle shops in Maine. However Bootleggers in Topsham and Uncle Tom's Market in Brunswick both tend to have really solid selections for the area.

I've hit up both bootleggers and uncle toms and yeah, they're solid. Maybe I'm looking for too much ;-)

Bootleggers is my go-to. It's not great, but the people there are pretty friendly and the prices are usually pretty good. I haven't really come across a great bottle shop between Portland and Augusta. Bier Cellar in Portland is very good. If you join their mailing list you will get weekly updates on releases and have an opportunity to place holds for certain releases, which is a nice option if you can't get down there right away.
