Gonna try and make this one finally.

 

Any Houston folk going, now that the bottle limit is so high, I'd greatly appreciate a bottle or two of each. Lemme know if you can help me out.

Obviously I'd be there if I weren't in New York. One of my favorite events.

 

Anybody want to build a spreadsheet for the share? Going to bring Gozu, and some Upland sours for sure.

 

Spreadsheet will be useless once it gets so busy you can't move 5 feet from where you're standing. Be prepared to just share with the folks within arms reach of you. You'll see stuff over there, 20 feet away, that you want to try, but you'll never get over there.

Freetail shares are war. Come prepared.

 

This is why a spreadsheet comes in handy...I can seek out the people I need to and be like....YO open that shit with me bro

 

Ill be there with a few Hill Farmstead Saisons. I'm pretty easy to find since I am a dog.

With that high of a bottle count, will there be a lot of people getting there before 730?

I'll be there the earliest that Scott requested we could get there. No point being there any earlier, I'm not worried about missing out on bottles, just wanting to maximize my drinking time with friends, except @miikezombie I hate that guy.

 

That means I'll arrive at 7:28AM.

 

Yo! I'll have the tap list up tomorrow for this puppy. BYOA (bring your own antacids) because there will be shortage of tartness on tap.

Things will be a little tricky/different because we've started opening early on Saturdays for English Premier League. Last week a whole 3 people showed up for that, so it may not be an issue, but in any event, here are some important details (I'll have a more detailed blog post in the next 48 hours):

*No wristbands or bottle share before 7:30am. Wristbands will begin promptly at 7:30am.
*Doors to the pub open at 6:45 for EPL. You're more than welcome to come for EPL. HOWEVER, the bottle share must remain on the patio (starting at 7:30am) and no bottle share beer can be brought into the pub. If you want to watch EPL and have a beer, we'll have a standard tap list available.
*SMABRD tap list will be available when we open at 11am
*Bottle share ends and bottles will be picked up at 10:45. I'll make announcements via my little boom box thing, assuming I can find it
*Bottle sales will start at 10:30am in order of wristbands
*We reserve the right to institute a bottle limit. With the number of bottles, everyone should get some, but if we start getting above 200 in wristband count, we will institute a fair limit. The lowest the limit will go is 4 bottles.
*Bottles will be $12 each
*During the bottle share, beware of the Ghost Scorpion pepper beer, it has Ghost Scorpion peppers in it

I know you might address these in the blog, but I'll just toss them out now:

Is there a designated location to be at for wristbands?
I wouldn't mind getting to Freetail at 6:45 to watch some EPL and try the Bexarlinerweiss (if it's on), but if I'm in the brewpub will I miss out on wristbands on the patio?
I know last your some people cooperated and made a list for early arrivals, but I'm not sure if that'll happen again.

Also, will the kitchen be open at 6:45? If I can get there that early I wouldn't mind buying more food from you!

 

Good questions, I'll make sure to address them in the larger blog post, but will answer them now as well.

*Right when you enter the patio you can get your wristband
*We'll just have you go through the outside patio door to pick up your wristband at 7:30, then you can come back in and continue watching (this seems like the fairest way of doing it)
*We won't do an early list (we didn't do one for La Muerta last year, just did the line)
*We do Bring Your Own Breakfast for EPL games... our cooks work too hard to ask them wake that early!

 

So excited for this. I'll be there early just cus I can't stay later (I have to drive back to FtW and close the bar that evening). I'll have some food stuffs with me as well.

Thanks Scott and team for expediting the line. I really have to hit the road by 11:30 at the latest to be back by 5. So hopefully I can grab one of the first couple wristbands

 

This was the first beer I tasted at my first Freetail release (Ananke 2012) cleansed my pallate of the Monster I had on the way over.

So I have friends in town staying at our place otherwise I'd join. If anyone can help me out let me know. Austin, Houston or dallas. Live in Houston but expect to be in all cities over the next month or so.
