I was very wrong... looked like half the people of last year. Not sure what to make of it. Needless to say, I left more sober than a year ago, had fun though!

 

Anyone try the beers yet? How are they?

 

I thought the crowd size was perfect. I wasn't there last year, but I heard it was a clusterfuck. There were a lot of awesome beers there today and I think it's great that there were plenty of FT bottles to go around. The fact that these releases have grown exponentially since the days of 90 bottle count BBA La Muerta (with far less than 90 people there to buy it) is wonderful, but I don't necessarily see the appeal of a packed megashare like last year's release apparently was.

 

How are the beers themselves?

 

Endymion is essentially a Flemish-style Oud Brune, and very good. I haven't tried Makaria.

 

I had an awesome time meeting all you cool arrows. Definitely more laid back than last year.

Both beers are excellent. I wish they had bottled Solera as well.

 

Had a great time with you guys! Endymion was awesome I was very impressed.

 

Another great day hanging out with you maniacs. Much good beer was drank and purchased, drunken tom-foolery ensued, and Cran-brr-itas were even shot gunned. Thanks to everyone for their generosity, and especially to @FreetailBrewing for always showing us a good time. Scott's Bain impressions and 1 good joke were classics.

Just an FYI, there is a LOT of Endymion still available, and a modest amount of Makaria. I have a feeling I'll be coming back for a case of the former after my wife gets her quarterly bonus.

Damn. I was at Freetail last night enjoying all of the sours still left on tap. Didn't even think to look in the cooler for bottles. Figured it was all sold out. Oh well. That drive from downtown is killer. Eagerly awaiting Freetail2.

 

No it's not, I made it at least 3 times a week! Get on the interchange to I-10 and don't go during rush hour - easy game! 20-25 minutes from Southtown every time, which went much faster thinking about the delicious beers I was about to drink.

 

Though I'm also peeved that they started building F2 right after I leave town. And I could've seen it from my window

 

Maybe you should move back. There is no way AL is that nice of a place
