Hey all, I'll be in San Antonio in a couple of months, and was wondering about Freetail. Basically, I'll be with non beer enthusiast friends, and was wondering if it would be a spot they'd dig, too. Any advice is welcomed. Thanks!
I have no idea, but just tell them the food is great and then act surprised when you get there and it's also a brewery!
I was there for the first time this weekend. They have probably 6-8 of their own beers on tap, plus bottles in a cooler you can buy and take home. They also have a pretty complete food menu (salads, pastas, pizzas, etc.) and the food was very good. Its not a huge place, but it has indoor and outdoor space, plus a bar. If I lived closer, its definitely a place I'd go to regularly - I think anyone will enjoy their time there, beer-drinker or not.
It's a great place. The food is awesome. And they have a good selection of sours that might appeal to your avg non beer drinker.
IMO they have a bit of something for most everyone. Hell my wife despises beer but loves going because the mac n cheese is TO DIE FOR.
Freetail is a great hangout. The food is really good (I like to order the brisket pizza and have them add Gorgonzola to it) and they make some awesome beers. Freetail Ale and La Rubia are both very approachable beers for non-craft drinkers. I think they usually have Shiner Light Blonde on tap also.
This. The lady hates beer (although she liked Realtail '12 and fairy peril) but enjoys their food. Haven't had a pizza there I didn't enjoy.
