I have an upright freezer I'm using for a cellar with a temp controller(Johnson single). Anyone ever heard of a temperature controller malfunctioning in a freezer causing everything to freeze? My controller has a setting to turn the freezer off if it malfunctions, but I just wanted to make sure that there is ZERO chance that it couldn't in some way freeze all my stuff. Looking for piece of mind

I doubt that anyone could tell you that there is a zero % chance of your beer freezing, but if you have the A419 controller and set the SF = 0 then the circuit will de-energizer on failure.

I have the same setup and really dont worry about my beer freezing.

The bigger concern would be leaving the temp probe out of the freezer and the controller never kicking off and that would freeze everything. Or you leave the SF = 1 and the probe fails.

Lots of people using that same setup. I dont think that there are any real concerns.
