Anyone done a side-by-side of these two? I'm having a 2011 PSM right now and getting serious vu-ja-de...

I have not done a side-by-side, but I've had both and I don't remember one being reminiscent of the other.

I find it strange that they'd even taste similar considering B-Bomb has some serious bourbon in it and PSM has none...

Eh, maybe just me. In the PSM I was picking up a lot of wood, vanilla, chocolate, toffee and the overall profile just seemed really similar. ABV is about the same too. No bourbon obviously but one thing I like about B-Bomb is I think its use of the barrel-aging is pretty subtle relative to a lot of other bourbon-barrel beers out there.

Someday I'll do a side-by-side and report back. It's the least I can do for science.

I can see some of the similar flavors, but I bet doing a side by side it wouldn't be hard to tell which is which

I hope my comment previous didn't seem "ass-holish," but I do agree with you that they share some similar qualities. The wood in PSM is very heavy and the beer is also very rich. B-Bomb has nice layers of bourbon qualities, and a little wood. I'd say that probably the biggest differences are indeed the bourbon vs. wood.

Agreed, it was more "dickish".
