It's unfortunate the circumstances, but I really hope we see widespread adoption of online ticketing for releases post-covid. Congrats to Fremont on the 4k!

    Same here.

Is there an email list for Fremont? I'm certainly on Reuben's email list, and it's really helpful, but I haven't seen any of the sort for Fremont, and spending a few minutes on their website didn't help. Did they announce this only on Instagram? (It apparently was not posted on Facebook or Twitter, and I'm not too keen on signing up for the next four InstaTokChat iterations of social media, either. /agingludditerant)

They said some will see distro etc so if you missed there will still be a chance.

Anyone heard anything about production this year? If it's comparable to the bk3, then I'm optimistic about finding some around town in pdx.

Yeah. I missed out also but bk3 showed up at my local watering holes a few times for several months so I'm holding out hope.

Hell I just had B3K over at Bottleworks before they covid-closed so I'm sure it will turn up on tap around town somewhere. I'm sure the current state of things will actually probably aid that endeavour as no one is out there drinking it all up at present

I'm sure there will be some kegs once we return to normalcy, whenever that may be, but it sounds like B4K was a relatively small batch.

Was wondering if anyone has seen bottles of B4K in PDX yet. Just called over to Imperial Bottle shop on Division, and so far no luck.

The only bottles available have been those sold online/direct at the brewery. A small amount will go into distribution once the Corona virus situation is over, based on the IG live stream they had last week.

Thanks for the update, but... seriously? That could be months or even years from now, depending upon what their definition of "over" is. Based on what I've see from online stores, Fremont is otherwise still making deliveries of their beer to stores here in PDX... I'm puzzled as to why they would treat B4K differently.

Probably because they fear releasing this beer now will result in folks not sheltering in place? They probably don't want to be responsible for a whole lot of us driving all around town looking for bottles.

My experience is limited of course, but most places I've contacted expect you to call them in advance to place your order. You then drive over for a curbside pick up, or increasingly a lot of places deliver. I don't know Dyan... I just don't see how sending down a few extra cases of b4k will dramatically increase traffic on the streets here.

They can do what that they want with it. Seems like something not worth worrying about in our current situation.

Knowing Fremont, what matters is principle. It's a special beer to them and to many of us. But these are uniquely perilous times which demand a sensitive response.

A number of local bottle shops are currently closed, while others remain open with increased safeguards and an unknown amount of risk. Figuring out allocations & distribution under this scenario is problematic enough, but if even one person goes out chasing the beer everywhere right now, that's one person too many.

Holding it back at the brewery where they can have better control over the process until this terrible situation is resolved is a smart, thoughtful, respectful move. Besides, it'll only taste that much more glorious when the worst of this crisis is over.

That moment cannot come soon enough.
