French newbie needing help / advices

    Bonjour,

    I am french living in Paris and I will be traveling from Chicago to LA (from the 1st of September to the 21st). I am planning to visit breweries / bars along the way.

    I have got a bottle of Iris 2006 (bottled on the 8th of may 2008) that I will bring with me for trading.
    I am completely new on trading and I don't really know what I can I ask for it in exchange.

    I am particularly interested in 3 Floyds beers as they are almost impossible to find in France.

    Any help, advices would be appreciate.

    Just buy 3 floyds beers while you're in Chicago. If you'd rather trade, there's about 10,000 people in Chicago who would offer to give you FFF stuff for your cantillon, since FFF is easy to get there and cantillon is very, very difficult.

    i promise you you'll have no issues finding someone who wants cantillon for some three floyds. my only advice would be to bring more than just iris so you can trade for even more :slight_smile:

    edit: with 3 floyds in chicago, the bombers are pretty easy to find but because they sit, their freshness can be called into question. the six packs will almost always be fresh, but they don't sit for very long. if you can make it to the brewery, that would be much advised.

    bear in mind that cantillon is a fucking lot easier to obtain in europe than it is stateside. not saying that to diminish the value of OP's bottle stateside, but it'll probably be not that hard for OP to pick up another iris when they're back over in france.

    Thanks guys.

    Finding Cantillon in Paris is easy, and traveling to Brussels is no big deal.

    But I don't know if it will be easy for me to find some Dark Lord as I will be in Chicago for less than 3 days (I am not sure I will be able to go to the brewery).

    You won't be able to find Dark Lord for purchase in the stores. Put up a post in the ISO: FT section: IP Chicago Sept 1-3 FT: Iris ISO: Dark Lord and you'll have no problem getting it done.

    agree with this. you won't get a barrel aged dark lord, but you will have zero trouble landing a regular.
