I'm a fan of B15 beers, and they periodically have made DIPAs and IPAs that I thought were great. However, I can't ever recall having a fh beer from them that was better than "middlin." Hopefully things will be better this year.

Living Häus's first FH beers are here!

OK, we've waited long enough. Come get your fresh hop beers!

Today we're tapping two of seven fresh hop beers and we'll tap a third tomorrow! Check out what we've got in store for you.

Cole is our Centennial fresh hop beer we brew with our old pals from @humblesea We took a little inspiration and a lot of liberties with their delightful IPA, Socks and Sandals for the backbone of this beer. We give this beer a massive hot side addition of fresh Centennial hops from @goschiefarms along with a bit of Simcoe and Citra hops to create a medley of aromas and flavors from bright orange zest, lemon rind, dried currants, and a dash of just mowed grass.

Connie is a West Coast Pilsner we brewed with our friend Philly from @vcbcbeer This beer is loaded with freshly kilned (dried) Luminosa hops from @indiehops and @colemanagriculture Notes of candied orange peel, tangy passionfruit, and dried apricots compliment this crisp crusher.

On Wednesday we'll have our Hazy IPA, Herman, that showcases Strata hops from @goschiefarms We switched up the malt bill a little bit to better support the hops right off the bine with a touch of wheat malt. This beer is just bursting with berry and tropical goodness. So much strawberry, mango, and pineapple come through in this beer and we just love it.

Cans and draft of Cole and Connie are available on draft to-go today, Herman is available tomorrow!

Yeah, they do have more FH misses than hits, don't they? I was reasonably sure they did something good in the past few years, but I checked my notes and all I could come up with was a "surprisingly good" FH IPA that didn't make my "Best Of" list.

Still, a Fresh Hop Sticky Hands sounds promising. And even if it underperforms, you're still drinking a Sticky Hands, so there's that.

I am staying downtown and this looks like a great plan...a little ambitious, but some good suggestions, thanks!

I had my favorite fresh hop of the year on Monday, Von Ebert Volatile Substance with Strata followed by my least favorite yesterday, Great Notion Fresh Hop Laser Wolf. No surprise with Volatile, one of the best PNW IPAs with a subtle but lovely fresh burst. Laser Wolf, a hazy, was nice on the nose but the taste with a bit stringent upfront and the finish was borderline caustic.

Anacortes Brewing just posted a video on the FB of them dumping a bunch of cones into the kettle. I didn't have sound on, so I don't know if there were details.

    From Stemma's FB:

    "
It’s HERE! Our first Fresh Hop beer of the season is officially on draft!
First Pick Juicy IPA features wet Amarillo hops grown by VGF that were harvested on their first day of picking! We then dosed them with liquid nitrogen before dry hopping the tank. (Check our reels tomorrow to see what that looked like!). This light, tasty, 6.5% ABV, and smooth juicy fresh hop IPA features stone fruit, citrus, and an herbaceous finish. Hurry in and grab some before it’s gone.
On draft now or available to-go in 32 oz. cans.
    Happy Fresh Hop season folks!"

What Fresh Beast with HBC 1019 is in cans and on tap at all Breakside locations this week. If you want a tropical bomb, this is the one for you.

This has traditionally always been my favorite fh beer from Breakside. Alas, it always seems to sell out fast. Really hope it sticks around for another couple of weeks (long enough for me to actually try some).

I was at Belmont Station today and it was STOCKED with fresh hop cans that I have not seen. I picked up both Breakside FH 4 packs available without really knowing what they were. I figured one was the Extra Pale, it is. I was happy to find out later the other is the What Fresh Beast.

also grabbed 3 different ones from Living Haus
    Volatile Substance Strata
Away Days Fresh Hop Deadline - Centennial

    Good weekend ahead!

    Killer Red
Ahhh not great. It's more like an amber than a Red IPA. Nice hop burps, but no great FH taste.
