It's on tap down here in Eugene right now (Growler Nation). Not sure it's so wonderful that it's worth making a drive down, though IMHO, there are enough other interesting/worthy spots in town that it might be worth your while to come down. Growler prices were 8.99/14.99 for a fill. Pint prices are $4.50, and $3.50 during happy hour (from 3-6 most days). They just tapped their keg, so it will likely be on for a while (seeing as how this is Eugene, and not Portland).

I've seen Breakside Mosaic on tap around Seattle, too.

Bottles NW on NE Fremont has the Breakside Mosaic fresh hop on tap. Not sure if that is the same beer as the Mosaic Bomb you were asking about. gonna go by later today and give it a try. The Simcoe was very good

interesting. Both Bottles and Growler Nation list the beer as Breakside Mosaic fresh hop. however one has an ABV listing of 5.9 (Bottles) and one is 6.8 (Growler Nation). Same beer?

I'm assuming the GN abv. listing is a typo. When I stopped by last night, they had the abv. listed at 6.0%.

It's a very tasty beer, no doubt, though I didn't pick up as much of the fresh hop character in it as I did with the Simcoe version.

Toronado, Chucks and Coopers Alehouse would be good bets. Last Drop had three when I was there on Saturday.

Mosaic Hop Bomb was listed @ Milwaukie @ 5.8 ABV & 50 IBUs. It's great, but as @John_M said, not as poppy hoppy as unfiltered Simcoe...or even Cascade. I do prefer it more than the latter, & love me Wanderlust more than Feel Good Flagship.

Went to PDX 10 Barrel to try their trio of FH brews. Shawn Kelso did the Big Daddy Pale w/ fresh ID Cenntenials (meh) & the ID Simcoe Idahop IPA (GREAT nose, but a bit too big @ 7.2 ABV & 80 IBUs).

The clear winner was Whitney & Jimmy's Vernside Cascade Pale...such aroma, a candy punch through the middle & clean, lean 2-row body. $10 growler fill is the best bargain, yet! Have to say it beats this crowler of Breakside FH Cascade I'm enjoying, now. & you know how much of a Wanderlust freak I am...

Fort George's release info for Fresh IPA specifically references a 48-hour time frame from harvest to brew. That's longer than any other I've read or heard. Not suggesting it's a problem, but interesting nonetheless.

i don't think there's much to gain from lying about harvest-to-brew time, but i would be interested in seeing how it effects the beer. y'kno, for science.

Airways has their Citra fresh hop on. Will stop by for a pint before heading home.

Also, FH Cousin Eddie (Mosaic) and Johnny Utah (Citra) are on at Georgetown. Will stop for samples and a growler of one.

Airways FH Citra IPA was good. I like Georgetown's FH Cousin Eddie, but the Mosaic could've been more prominent.

FH Johnny Utah was absolutely outstanding. One of the best FH beers I've had so far this year.

Being the Breakside fanboy that I most certainly am, & a science nerd @ heart, the liquid nitrogen treatment just proves to be better, in my 1st FH foray. Vegetal notes are for peasant beer & many FH offerings I've had just seem fleeting on the nose & dry-hopped to hide it.
Having a clean malt bill on a legitmately resinous freshie is not more evident than on this Vernside, versus the easy, fresh effect the shattered hops on FH Wanderlust convey.

Anybody in the Eugene/Springfield area going to the Springfield hop festival today?

Different note, had Hale's FH and Double Mtn's killer green fh yesterday. Two beers that were on totally different ends of the spectrum. Hale's session IPA was a little too light in the body for me. Even lighter than most low abv ipas almost felt like drinking hop tea. There were some nice resiny grassy fresh hop notes though. Double mtn's on the other had was really malt forward almost to the point of being sweet. Didn't really get a lot of the hop character, but I do admit it grew on me a little towards the finish. Maybe it was the 7%, hah.

I respect Double Mountain for their consistent fresh hop offerings; it seems pretty clear that they've got their recipe and technique right where the want them, they just don't hit my personal sweet spot. I feel obligated to try them every year, but haven't ever finished one wanting more.
