Fresh Lunch

I will be in Naples/Bridgton this weekend, will confirm Saturday for the Lakes area.

 

the Abbey has had a couple of kegs of Lunch in recent weeks. Can't vouch for its true freshness other than to say it tasted super fresh and tasty. Deeeeelicious!

 

This most recent batch was kegs only. Not sure where they all landed but novare res had it on Monday night and it was top notch. Great lost bear has it on right now too.

 

Atwood's in Cambridge recently had a very fresh tasting keg on, but I believe it's since kicked.

 

It was last weekend so I am sure it is gone, Sunset also had a keg but that kicked as well.

 

I second that really great on tap.

 

Add Publick House and Canary Square (Jamaica Plain) to the Boston area spots where Lunch was on tap last week.

 

Almost afraid to ask what it's going for - the going rate for the middling MBC Peeper is $140 per sixtel wholesale around Boston (resulting in $8.50 10 oz pours in the MBC stemmed glasses) .

 

The 2 pours I had at Sunset came to $18, I believe they were 12 oz pours.

 

Jeez, sounds similar to Sculpin, actually probably worse than Sculpin on tap around here. Pass me a Green Flash at the bar.

 

Really? Lord Hobo gets Sculpin a lot and charges 6.50 for a full pint.

 

Damn, good to know. I've seen $9 - 12, although the 12 is rare. And sometimes served in a 13 oz. tulip for that price. Fuck Somerville.

 

No idea re $$, I missed it at TPH (tho knew it was on deck and wanted to re-tick) and Canary Square was word of mouth

 

How hard is it to get a bottle or 2 in Boston of Lunch?

 

That is one reason that even though I live in Somerville, I drink in Cambridge CBC and Lord Hobo mostly.

 

Batch seven has made it to western Mass.

 

Hard. Bottles will come around every 3 months or so and will be sold out in a couple days. If your in town I would recommend buying Peeper and Zoe because they are really good and available most of the time. If you find Lunch then consider it a bonus.

 

Last time I got some it had to be the week it was released (so I had to know when it was released) and I had to ask to get some "from the back room" and I was only handed two bottles. Peeper and Zoe, on the other hand, now seem to be sitting around on the shelf so you have to check the bottle dates.

I prefer Wormtown Be Hoppy over Lunch anyway!

 

Had it tonight at Bukowski's in Cambridge. Delicious, but I ordered without checking the price...12oz for $12.84
