Went to pick up a couple fresh packs today for myself and a fellow Beeradvocate member in Chicago.

My local NW suburbs shop said they got a bunch in the end of last week.

None of it had dates on it. Has the colored mark but no date stamp (see below)

Is it fresh or super old?

Agree with Brandon - sometimes their stamper-thingy is broken. You're all good.

That date coder is a PITA but worth it when it works

2/20 @ Liquor barrel in Golden Valley. Delish. Goes great with state hockey tourney.

Hey everyone. I ordered some 4-packs of Abrasive from France44 on March 6th (the morning they became available on the website) and the cans I received have the colored markings but no date. Is there any way to check the batch numbers? If not, should I assume they're from the last batch, 02/20? Thanks.

Try this one... JUST DRINK IT!!! :-D

As far as I know, the date stamper broke on the last batch.

hate to maybe twist the knife, but there are a lit shoad of MN BA's that love sending Surly abroad, might I suggest getting a good MN connection and not pay the premium to France44. Hell most of my trades the past 2 months had
    Abrasive as extras.

I appreciate the suggestion. This was my first time trying anything from Surly, so I went a bit overboard and bought 9 4-packs. It made more sense for me to buy from France44 instead of trading for multiples of every available Surly beer. The shipping prices are reasonable when buying in bulk. Next time I'm craving some Surly IPAs, I probably will trade for them though.

Oh I am drinking it for sure. I had an Abrasive tonight and it was glorious! I figured it was from the last batch. Thanks for the info.

If you post up in this section, I'm sure there is someone who will do $4$ with you on locals. Hell! You round up the same dollars in Allagash and I'll score you as much Surly as you want! And I can ship cheaper than France44 is charging.

    Enjoy!

Thanks. I'll keep that in mind next time. I could definitely come up with a nice assortment of Allagash.
