Fresh West Coast IPA in DFW

West coast in general? The freshest I find here in Austin is Sierra Nevada PA/Torpedo. Regularly under 2 weeks since bottled at my local HEB.

 

I grabbed some GF West Coast IPA during the Central Market sale last month -- i think they were dated 7/26/12. First I'd seen of the new dated bottles (for the IPA at least) in DFW. Also bought similarly dated Hop Head Red and Double Stout. Not the freshest by any means, but for under $6 a four-pack (on sale) it seemed fresh enough for me.

 

Green Flash seems to never be "truly" fresh here in town. It's always 2-3 months old. I think it sits a lot on the shelf and new cases get older in the back.

 

Just checked my bottles and they are 8/6/12...so about 5-6 weeks old when I bought em last month.

 

I live in Boston & gave up on bottled GF WCIPA long ago - even tho they recently started to date the bottles all the ones I see are at least 4 mos old.

Thankfully it has become much more available around here on draft so I stick to that. I should add that it's one of my favorite beers - done a total disservice by the stale bottles that are seemingly everywhere.
