I have a friend coming to Georgia from Chicago, I've heard Binnys is awesome. He has offered to pick me up stuff but he's not into craft. What is readily available to ask for? Three Floyd's, etc? I'm into BB stouts and sours.
I reckon that BCBS is going to be difficult to come by at most big stores like Binny's in Chicagoland, but if your pal hits one of the smaller neglected corner stores in the city he should still be able to find you some treasures. Here's to hoping your haul is plentiful.
Binny's should have a good stock of bourbon county stout, beers by local breweries Pipeworks, Off Color, begyle, Spiteful, 18th street, and revolution brewing. They sometimes have 3 Floyds in stock, but it usually sells out fast. Just have your friend ask someone who works there to help them out with some Chicago locals; they're usually pretty good about doing that.
Surly, Pipeworks, Revolution, Deschutes, Half Acre, Bourbon County if you're lucky [but I'm pretty sure most of that sold out quicker than winning lottery tickets]...I'd suggest trying to pick up some growlers [are they driving?] from Piece, Solemn Oath, and Haymarket? Just a few...but, there's plenty of stuff in Chi-town area to satisfy your thirst..Just make sure you send him back up w/ a nice chunk of Terrapin
If you've never had Ballast Point "Victory at Sea", have him grab one of them. WONDERFUL Porter that drinks just like a Stout! A lot of times they have Stone Enjoy By, not sure if they had the last one distributed though. (Not sure if you like IPA's at all though)
