I tried to find a thread on this but came up empty handed. I am heading to Frisco TX next week. I am looking for a few places to grab some bottles and grab some dinner/craft beer. Any suggestions? I managed to find Mr G's so I will probably head there in hopes of some Jester King. Any other must sees or must drinks? I am from South FL so I do not get very much craft beer down here, although distribution is expanding. I will have a car but limited amount of time so traveling to Dallas every day probably can't happen but I might be able to do it once. Cheers!
Bottle shop: Lone Star Beverages (send beermail to lonestarbev if you want something specific also check their FB/instagram). Whole Foods and Central Market in Plano may be worth a look as well. Dining: Holy Grail Pub or 3 Stacks. If you are far enough north, go to Denton and hit Oak Street Drafthouse
S&K Beverages in Plano is also pretty good, Kegs & barrels in plano has some decent bottles as well. Gingerman plano is a good bar also.
For food+beer relatively near by: Jack Macs Swill & Grill - primarily local beers, good food Holy Grail - decent selection of locals and other craft, good for bar food, but I'm otherwise not a fan of their food 3 Stacks Smokehouse - I haven't been, but have heard decent things Mellow Mushroom - pizza and beer selection is ok Palio's pizza - BYOB (except the one in Plano). One of my favorite pizza places in Dallas If you can make it to downtown, your options get better. The Common Table and Meddlesome Moth have a tasty selection of beer and food. If you're in the mood for burgers, you have Hopdoddy and Goodfriend. For other bottle shops, if you make it down to Mr Gs, Central Market and Whole Foods are both nearby. I always recommend Hall's and Lonestar, but both of those are a bit of a drive from Frisco.
I second Lonestar Beverages for Bottles, and Holy Grail Pub (probably closest for you) and Jack Macs for Food/Beer.
3 Stacks is the best BBQ north of downtown. Beer selection is fairly good. Also look at Whiskey Cake. They have good food and a surprising beer selection. Otherwise, use air's post as your guidebook.
100x this. I had a top notch experience when I visited Lone Star Beverages. The owner Rick was very helpful in choosing beers that aren't distributed to Houston, had a great selection of growlers and glassware, and had a few special beers in the backroom he got for me when I asked.
Lone Star for sure. I live in Fort Worth now but will occasionally make the 45min hike over to Lone Star due to the unbelievable selection. Rick can generally get beers that nobody else can get - or gets them first. Jester King is a for sure there... I used to live in Frisco and that is the best place in the area. It's not too bad of a drive actually. Food - X2 on The Gingerman. It is off of the Tollway and Legacy just there on the border of Frisco and Plano. What part of Frisco?
Choice Beverage up in McKinney is another great bottle shop. Just discovered it and I couldn't believe that it was sitting right under my nose up here.
Lone Star it is! I will probably hit up one or two of the others. Cheers and thanks for everyones help!
