    Hey everyone,

I have a bottle of the 30th Anniversary F&K Ale I plan on finally drinking next week. I realized, however, that I've been aging it for 3-4 years rather than the recommended ~2 years. Did I blow it? What are the chances the beer will have gone bad?

    Thanks for any help!

No. And almost none, unless you've been cellaring it improperly. All of the 30th Anniversary series appear to be aging well; I haven't opened a Fritz and Ken's lately, but the Black Barleywine and Grand Cru were drinking fantastically a few weeks ago.

Going by recent reviews the stout should be a fun beer to open!

I had one earlier this year and it was quite good, I have 3 or 4 more Im gonna drink one each year to see what happens.

This reminds me, its about time to pop open a Grand Cru!

I'll add that I had one in July and it hadn't lost much, if anything.

interesting. i thought it had gone downhill at 2 years. maybe it's coming back up.

p.s. jack and kens is the prize, age-wise. pretty jaw-dropping transformation; like bigfoot but better (and what more can you ask from a meant-to-be-aged barleywine?).
