Hey fellas an ladies was wondering if some of you locals could direct me to some good breweries and bottle shops along my way to Oneida. A REAL small town a little west of hazleton(which I'm sure you know). I am either going from I-287 NY to I-80 and across, or taking I-84 from CT all the way through to Wilkes-barre an the way I'm going to decide is the best stops on the way.

I have been to Penn but I'm not totally sure how the alch sales work. I know you have beer stores which do just cases, and then I have bought 6 packs from bars(which seemed overpriced) but what about bottles, bombers, and 750s? Are there just bottle shops as well? Please lmk what is what if you let me know of a good store.

I heard of a store in west hazleton which I'm gonna stop at but I figured if there was anything off either route within 20-30 min I'd stop and check it out.

Please let me know everybody, appreciate it!

Don't know about stuff in that area, but I do know that Captain Lawrence is right off 287 in Elmsford, which is in New York before you cross the Tappan Zee. I haven't been, but several reputable people say it is very well worth a stop.

You could work a stop at Peekskill into your trip if you go the 84 route. A better option than Capt Lawrence, IMO. Rushing Duck isn't too far west of Peekskill either. In the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre area there is 3 Guys and Beer'd Brewing, who seem to be doing some decent things.

    Breweries near Hazleton from google:

Depending on your window size, if you move the map around (to the north in particular), there are a couple more that show up if you take the 84 to 81 route.

Not sure if you took your trip yet but Sabatini's Pizza in Exter, PA (about 20 minutes round trip off 81 by Wilkes-barre) is a rare, aged goldmine. Lots of good, unique bottles are typically reasonable prices.

wow man I just left today and decided to go home on 80 to stop at another place in jersey, because the selection I saw at one store in hazleton that was deemed "fantastic" turned out to be a dud, and an expensive one who wouldn't fill 32oz growlers...Yea. I think I saw that place and assumed it wasn't a place that sold bottles. No offense but penn is ass backwards w their stuff lol
