Figured I’d start one for the brewery in Derry NH that produces great NEIPAs & other kettle sours. Visited yesterday after a big weekend in which they sold out of several juicy IPA’s & still had a selection of straight up IPAs & black IPAs. Always many great thoughtful beers on tap. Worth a visit combined with close-by breweries of Rockingham in the same office park & also Kelsen around the corner. Kelsen has pizza very similar to Regina if that’s your thing
I have always been a fan of their beer, just have found it very hard to get due to their limited hours and small batch sizes. Have not been since Covid hit but will for sure get down there this summer!
Selfishly, I just can't get a hold of their beer and rarely go when passing through NH, because good luck getting any of their beer on weekends. Even the couple times I stopped for a pour on a Sat or Sunday afternoon maybe 3 years back, they had like 2 options available. Funny enough their most reliable draft seems to be at Tuckaway Tavern. I only assume they want to keep the brewery at this small a level since by all appearances their beer is very popular, yet no real significant expansion since 2014 that I am aware of. Will follow this thread in case the batch sizes increase and it's worth trying a wider variety of their beers.
Yes, they don't have any grand plans for expansion at the moment, seem to be satisfied with the set-up they have now. But, given the quality of the beer and the demand, I wouldn't be surprised if they expanded operations at some point.
100% agree. FTB is my must-stop when driving north in NH during the summer. The IPAs are phenomenal, but don't skip the stouts either. You need something delicious to sip around the fire at the end of the night. Remedy and it's variants are my favorite of the dark beers. Sweet Jane is only 4.7% but drinks much bigger. MK and Lily are two of the best double IPAs I've had.
I remember I went last year toward the end of Summer when things started cautiously opening up again in NH, and it was great. Maple stout was killer and super drinkable, and the IPA and fruited sour (forget what it was, unfortunately) were top notch too. Rockingham is underrated, too, though.
Tap list for the weekend: Taps: Sweet Jane ddh galaxy Hints and Allegations (black IPA) Clays Maple Pecan Clays magic bar Howl (Imperial Stout) Spare Parts mango passion fruit guava (Sour) The Sweet Jane is fantastic IMO
