Haven't seen any threads here about this. Thinking about heading up to Londonderry to check them out tomorrow. Thinking while I'm there I will probably pop into Rockingham as well. Any insight?
Definitely worth checking out. You might as well stop at Kelsens too. They're right down the road. If you like mead, Moonlight Meadery is next door to FTB.
I've been to Kelsen's. Beer is pretty good. Labels kill me though. Can't explain why this bothers me to the extent it does. Anything I should be definitely getting at FTB or Rockingham?
I really like the hoppy offerings from FTB, especially MK. I haven't tried them yet but their dry hopped beers are on my short list to try next. The only beer I've had from Rockingham is their Bacon Stout. It's a good beer but it's not my thing. I'm not a fan of smoked beers and it has a smoky quality to it.
I'm friends with someone involved with FTB (not sure if he's a brewer or not) on a certain beer check-in app that shall not be named here. He seems like a good guy and I'm looking forward to checking out their stuff at some point.
I've had a couple of thier beers. Lily and one I can't remember the name of. They were good for what they were. Nothing mind bending. I would try others.
I've really enjoyed some of the hoppy stuff. As said, nothing insane, but very very drinkable. They also do some double dry hopped versions of lily and elle that are nice. MK is solid and I am happy these guys are getting more recognition, happy to see them in the seacoast now...
On a side note, if you're not aware of it, The Drinkery in Derry is very close to FTB and they carry a nice collection of NH beers. You could grab a few bottles here. They usually have White Birch, Stoneface, Outhaus Ales, Blue Lobster, etc...
All of the hoppy offerings from FTB are really good. I love MK, Lilly and Elle (especially the DDH versions). They make great pales too, but I can't remember the names. Kelsen also just came out with a new session IPA that's good. I can't get behind Rockingham Brewing. Everything they make tastes the same. The only thing I've liked by them is their farmhouse, and I didn't find it to taste like a farmhouse. I'm going to give them a few months before trying again. I think part of the issue is that they've released an insane amount of beers in a very short period of time.
Have tried all the beers from Rockingham Brewing and the only thing that really turned me on was the Maple Beast. Kind of like MBCP on steroids. Kelsens has improved there Battle Axe IPA IMO and it's now a very good IPA. The Elle is still a very malt forward DIPA IMO but am looking forward to trying there MK DIPA.
MK is pretty tasty, one of the better NH-made IPAs. I'm looking forward to their new pale, AKA. Looked deliciously hazy.
I thought Strictly Simcoe was a very good pale ale at 5.5%. Nice beer that I buy when fresh and available in my area.
Anyone else go to the 1 year anniversary on Saturday? Place was packed! I was happy to see these guys draw a crowd (wish they planned as such and tried for a permit to pour outside in a tent or something though!). Had several new beers/new batches on. Really digging the DDH Lily, DDH MK, the RIS and their Anniversary DIPA they had Saturday. Hoping they can keep up on this type of draft list from time to time....will make it much easier for me to justify the 45 min drive from Portsmouth hahah.
Yeah... I got there right at Noon and was one of only 5-6 inside.... Line was soon was out the door! All the DIPAs were solid, but I really liked te Bourbon Oaked Remedy.... Prosit!
