Was in Vermont this weekend. As if we needed further indication that Vermont is not just about the "big three".

Picked up something from CBC: Frost Beer Works, it was "Another VT IPA", and found it to be superb. Very "juicy", and rather "Trillium like" if that is now an adjective. Smells like tangerines.

Also had the Prohibition Pig IPA at Pro Pig. Wow...tried the HF Harlan and Citra Pale Ale as well, and the Pro Pig was what stood out. Clearly so. Going to pop the growler I brought back for the Pats game tonight.

Landed some other goodies, including a Foley Brothers Prospect I am looking forward to.

I thought the Galaxy Multi Grain IPA from Pro Pig was awesome and one of the best beers I had while I was up in Waterbury a few weeks back.

The one I had was just called Prohibition Pig IPA, and it was hopped with a mix of Amarillo, Mosaic and Citra. But I have no doubt that the others were good too.

    not surprised.
on my last trip up to VT back in June Pro Pig easily had the better IPAs over the likes of HF/Lawsons/Alchemist/Fiddlehead

I'm not splitting any hairs. it could have just been batch variations on that day in June... but it wasn't even really close!
on my previous trips up the 1 or 2 beers Pro Pig had were just ok. this june trip was my first since they opened the brewery next door and the quality improvement on their beers was staggering

Oh I don't doubt that at all. My point was that those beers(almost any of them) can hold their own and we're very lucky to have so many in a concentrated area. Good to hear PP is stepping it up.

No argument from me. They didn't have Abner, or Focal Banger, or Double Sunshine etc. They did have Harlan, which is not my favorite HF IP, and the Pro Pig IPA was decidedly better side by side. It wasn't close really.

Thanks y'all! Really appreciate the kind words; I've been pretty excited with these latest batches of ProPig IPA and Multi-Grain IPA. And cosign that Mike at Frost is putting out some pretty tasty stuff. Cheers!

I had a double IPA from frost a few weeks ago (it was called Some IIPA), thought it was very syrupy, had very little juicy flavor from the hops and just sort of reminded me of cough syrup.

Crop Bistro had some impressive brews(Doubletyme/Idyletime) when I was in Stowe. Love the Pro Pig Coffee Oatmeal Stout. I also think I had a good Foley Brothers - Citrennial I believe. Another tasty brew.

Going to open it for the Pats game Sunday I think. I really need some HF glasses.

I love the new Lush beer from Frost! It's been so great in bottles and on draft at both the brewery and the local tap houses.
