Just received a package and since it sat over the weekend the bottles froze a bit. One of them, Biere Dr Pays saison, was mostly frozen and was leaking from the cap, but only very slightly.

Is this beer now bad? Should it be frank right away? Also, if beer freezing then defrosting bad for the beer? Can't imagine its good...

Sorry, just reading his now so probably not much help. If you have a bottle capper you could just crimp the cap back on tighter until you're ready to drink it. Regardless, probably best to drink sooner rather than later because oxidation is now more of a factor.

I've consumed beer that had been unintentionally frozen and thawed and it tasted ok. I definitely wouldn't make it a habit because it seems there has to be some chemical reaction occurring within the beer once it freezes. Then again, "freeze distilling" is a thing and doesn't seem to harm the beer when developing something like an eisbock. There have been threads about this in the past but the ones I read were mostly opinion and inconclusive.
