So I went to Fry's this morning and bought a single beer but when I checked out at the register the cashier gave me shit for buying one. I then look at my receipt and it says craft beer single. It was 1.50 for a single and a six is 8.99. So the math adds up. So what's the issue of just buying a single? Anybody have this experience?
I don't think most stores like breaking up sixers. However if it's offered, not sure why you got shit for it.
Its more like they have a bunch of singles to make a six pack. I didn't break a six. Sorry I didn't specify.
The Krogers in Houston offer a mix six for $9.99 their beers are not individually priced. Local HEB has them individually priced, but want you to fill a six pack with them. Not sure if they would sell them individually, never tried it, might next time. I think they had their sculpin priced at $1.99 which was cheaper than the six pack
Good point, I know HEB prices and labels all of their separate because they have a good selection, from like 1.50 up to 5 a bottle, so I think they would sell them as singles, just never tried it. Can't be a law against it that I know of because some Specs sell singles. Go back every day and just buy a single if that same person is there, see if you can crack them
Did you use a credit card? I could see a small shop giving you a hard time for using a credit card on such a small purchase (though I don't agree with it).
Just for more clarification Fry's is a grocery store. Its an offshoot of Kroger. I only bought a single because I hadn't had Left Hands Coffee Nitro Porter.
I've been rejected from buying a single at the 11th/Shepherd Kroger in Houston. They're there exclusively for build-your-6ers.
