We've had a good trade before I believe. Sure I'll do 1:1 with you.

Secondary, razzle and trading are 3 different things. Secondary and razzle values, somewhat related, are results of a hype machine created by profiteers in combination with the artificial scarcity/limited nature of a beer created by a brewery. Quality is a very small factor, if at all. For quality, I can go out today and grab a can of BA Ten Fidy which is every bit as 'good' as some 300 bottle limited release sugar water with a wax seal and a textured label. Quality is in the eye of the beholder.

My perception is that you bore the brunt of this because you highlighted many of the very reasons why people hate beer trading these days. You opted to shit on another beer with a homer mentality (mine is better than yours) and maximizing profits, AND now using secondary and razzle as your justification for your asking price.

It comes across as if you are doing someone a favor by taking that disgusting swill, Marshmallow Handjee, of their hands (+ another bottle) and giving them a precious, highly coveted elixir in return. They should be grateful for your generosity.

Again, you can do as you want but don't be surprised if there is a large audience that calls you out for this approach.

In OP's defense, based on some of the BA coco trades that have recently closed, I don't believe it's unreasonable to value both of these beers at 1:1 (I have a buddy who closed Anabasis b2 which, last I had seen, is slightly higher than Handjee).

In echoing the sentiments of many here, there are entirely too many traders focused on secondary, going so far as to attempt bleeding an additional $50-$100 in beers to close some arbitrary gap in trade value for something that could likely wind up drain-poured anyway, all in the name of #Winning a trade. Is it inconceivable that perhaps #Winning a trade could be an even exchange of 2 750-mL bottles between two willing parties and ignoring a measly $75 difference in perceived value (which is nothing more than opinion and speculation), if each is getting what they both want? Why is one always obligated to "add a plus" when the proposed trade is 1:1 or 2:2 and the values are in the same ballpark? I'd venture a guess that if opinions were welcome, the peanut gallery would be duly solicited.

I, for one, despise the hype train out of ANY market, and that includes STL. Neckbeards in all markets stand guilty of unabashedly hyping their coveted acquisitions, creating a perceived scarcity, inundating the masses with a heaping dosage of FOMO. This is precisely why many have grown weary of the trade game and have gone to simply trading $4$, or establish lasting trade partnerships with people they take care of and personally take care of them. At the end of the day, I'd take a Milf or KBS over many of these overhyped $400 and $500 beers.

I'll just say one more thing and I'm going to let this die. Anyone who has traded with me knows that I'm not a win every trade type of Trader. I'm always up for negotiating and feel that I'm really easy going. I guess I went about this the wrong way.

OP, just to be clear, my post was more a rant than anything else. It was never directed at you if that's how it was interpreted. There is no right or wrong way to post trades. There are only the opinions of other traders. That's why there is DM capability should anyone choose to discuss trade options or the option to lock down a post, lest ye be thread-shat upon again. Cheers and good luck!
