For the uninitiated - Boiler has some very solid brews. From what I've had at the tap room, the untappd ratings are extremely fair, if not undervaluing, the quality of the beer (my opinion, obviously). I have no skin in the game, don't know Aether and don't have any Boiler brews (wish I did - especially thiNILLA) - just want people to give their beers a try! Great stuff! Good luck, OP.

Maybe more people would be more willing to try their brews, if OP was not asking for some of the hardest to get beers in trading right now. Maybe he could get their brews out there with asking for some easier to trade beers or $4$.

When breweries dont have that much hype and/or want it's hard to fetch those bigger brews. OP please try and look for beers that are so limited, with this said I also dont know how Boilers releases are with limits, etc.

But still hard to get brews that are well "respected" and "hyped" for brews for little know about. But good luck OP and just my 2 cents.

    Tim,

I can understand your reasoning, as boiler doesn't have much hype as of yet, but as RM said they are some of the most underappreciated stouts and delicious brews. Boiler has really dialed in their BA stouts now, and has really grown in their stout game. I am sure you could say I am a fan boy, but I have sent or traded boiler stuff to a lot of people who have had "hyped" beerwho love their stuff and say it is on par with the "hype" beer. I would say I have had a lot of beers on my list and I would put Boiler on par with them. Additionally, most boiler BA stuff is small quantity (150-250 bottles), so tough to get hype around them. I do know two members who have closed for Millerzzz and BA Abraxas, so I don't think my evaluation is off. With that said, I know some of the beers in my list may require me to add and I am happy to do it. I don't try to win trades, I want both parties to be happy, and I think you could look at my track record of trades on BA and see that. Always happy to have a discussion, and if people don't feel my evaluation is off then they won't respond, which is ok.

I sincerely hope this does not come off as threadshitting because it is definitely not meant that way, but as feedback from someone that has multiple bottles from your list. I would have several reasons why I would hesitate to close this trade. First, as was mentioned above, the bottles on your ISO list were, to put it mildly, quite difficult for me to acquire. So in order for me to consider trading any of them, I would need to feel pretty certain that whatever I get back would be something I'd be very interested in and would also be a bottle that would equally as difficult for me to acquire in the future (or at least relatively close to it).

While I have no reason to believe that their BA stuff is very good right now, I remember a time at least a couple of years ago where infection issues were still present in Boiler BA releases so that also plays a factor in the back of my mind. Having said that though, even if the beer itself is on par with other hyped stouts (and again, I have no reason to believe that their not), taste, while a factor in trade value, is not one of the things that actually set and drive said value. If it did, then things like BCBS would trade very very highly.

A big part of what does factor into trade value is the ratio between availability and demand. A local brewery close to put out recently a release of 120 bottles for a pretty good stout (especially for the area). But just because it only had 120 bottles made doesn't mean it's more valuable necessarily because it doesn't have people looking for it. So while Boiler stouts are limited in availability, almost everything I see posted has a FT: Boiler and not the other way around (I think there have been 2 ISO: Boiler by my count over the last 6 months here on BA). Your friends may have traded for Millerz and BA Abraxas with them (and I have no reason to believe those trades didn't happen), I also have no reason to believe those trades are anything more than outliers and not actual values, as I don't see evidence either here or on FB groups I'm in that those bottles are routinely being offered up for anything Boiler is producing. Maybe that changes in the future, I don't know.

Again, I seriously hope that this did not come off as threadshitting. I was just trying to give you one person's perspective with the bottles you are looking for. Anyway, good luck OP in your search. Cheers!

@ColomboLQ I always appreciate the feedback and the threadshitting. I think it is all a matter of perspective, for some people BAA and others are easily attainable while Boiler beers aren't unless you are a member. Additionally, a lot of boiler members don't trade their beers because it is the only bottle they get. Most of the society members are actually out of state members, so they don't get to try it other than their society bottle, so not many pop up in the wild.

That said, I have traded boiler for some amazing stuff because people want to try it, and I wanted to try what they had. I have continued to trade boiler with those people because we both share a similar perspective of trading. It's not about winning but enjoy something new and different.

As far as the infection issues, it was only one of their BA stouts. They found out the issue was they used the wrong bottle cap on the bottle and they have corrected it. There haven't been any issues since, and from what I know they made it right with everyone. I actually have one of the infected beers, hoping it is not (50/50 shot). I also would never trade it because of the infection issues.

Anyways, I appreciate the discussion and I see you are a Texan like me so if you are ever in Dallas, hit me up and we will share a Boiler beer together.

But what I think you're missing is this: It might be the best beer any of us have ever had, but we have no reason to believe that and you're asking for a pretty penny in exchange.

Imagine you went to a car dealership with your new Ferrari, and they wanted to swap you straight up for a Smith's Autoworks Sweet Ass Car that they say is actually better and faster than the Ferrari. You'd never do it because you've never heard of that company and while you have no reason to doubt their claims you have no reason to believe them either.

I say the following as a Boiler supporter and generally proud Nebraskan and supporter of all things Nebraska: If you want to be able to reliably trade Boiler bottles at this valuation, you're probably going to need to either develop some regular trade partners or "under trade" a few times to get the word out. Or be patient AF and copy this same offer every couple of days for the next 6 months.

I appreciate your opinion. I guess we can agree to disagree on this part. I think I have made my points above.
