My wife and I just moved to Denver from FL. We're headed up to Ft. Collins next weekend for the first time. Besides the obvious, Odell, Ft. Collins Brewery, etc., are there any not so well known breweries/tap rooms that we should check out? Cheers!
Definitely hit up Funkwerks and Equinox in Fort Collins. Grimm Brothers is down in Loveland which is on your way to or from Denver.
Choice City. Go to Choice City. Choice City. But yeah, don't miss Funkwerks. New Belgian is definitely worth a stop as well.
I second this, plus yes go check out New Belgium, they are an awesome company and have some cool stuff at the taproom, plus the tour is great so try and hop on that. I personally would skip Fort Collins Brewing if you are short on time, but check out Choice City, Cafe Vino, and Tap n Handle. Also, the Mayor of Old Town is always a favorite place to go when I head back to visit. Bring your bikes because everything worth checking out is all very close.
There are a ton of places up there now. New Belgium, Odell, FCB, Funkwerks, Pateros Creek, Equinox, Coopersmith's, & Black Bottle are all of the (exclusive) breweries. There's also a CB & Potts and an A. Busch brewery as well. Personally, I value them in this order: Funkwerks, New Belgium, Odell, FCB, Equinox, Coopersmith's, Pateros Creek. I haven't made it to Black Bottle yet, so it might be better than some others. It's pretty close to Wilbur's Liquor store. While Coopersmith's isn't always awesome, they do have the occasional gem and their food rocks. In addition to these, there's also Choice City and the Mayor of Old town for beer bars.
As well as the Tap and Handle for beer bars. Although Black Bottle definitely qualifies as a beer bar on it's own - they keep 4-15 of their own beers on and fill the other 25-36 taps with other fun stuff.
