Any new beercentric restaurants? I've been to choice, the mayor, and black bottle.

Foco is getting a hop grenade. Should be here by summer that should add some new tap house options since they mayor and tap n handle have been around for awhile

Zwei is just as good as Bierstadt...or at the very least they're in the same ballpark. I'm a big fan.

K, so I'm going to resurrect this thread since I'll be hitting up the FoCo area (without having to drive home) for the first time in a while.
I'm very familiar with Odell, NB, Coopersmith's, FCB, FW, Equinox, Black Bottle, and Horse & Dragon. Zwei seems like a no brainer even if it's not super close to the others. Any other really good places within easy walking distance of the old downtown area?

snowbank is the only other one near the big breweries on the North East side of town, it is right behind FCB.

If you want to drive I would recommend Jessup Farms if you like barrel aged beers, really nice taproom as well.

Tap and Handle is my favorite place around.
Equinox is certainly the best brewery in old town.
F and H is right- the only place not mentioned already is Snowbank- and they do a pretty nice job over there.

Feel free to message me if you wanna grab a beer, Chris!

The Mayor of Old Town is another great choice. 100 beers on tap with the better local breweries heavily represented and occasionally rare out-of-town beers. Tap and Handle has a smaller tap list but an impressive bottle selection and a better atmosphere. If you want a nice sandwich or steak with a wildly good beer list go to Choice City.

Other than that, the previous posters hit the major breweries to try.

Will do. It's my wife's birthday, so I have to play by her rules, but I think she'll probably be game. We'll be heading up next Saturday, FYI.

I actually forgot all about the Mayor, but I know Choice City from way back when. Snowbank is new to me, so that might be in the cards instead of FCB or Odell. NB is a permanent "must" for us as we still love La Folie, Le Terroir, NBB Love, etc.

A few questions, as I am heading to Ft. Collins in June for a couple days:
    1. I read about a beer/bike tour. Worth it?
    2. As much as I'd love to visit all listed above, how feasible is it? Or rather, is there a part of the area that is more worthwhile than others in terms of hitting up places?
    3. How does Denver/Ft Collins altitude affect hangovers? Because if it is worse than anywhere else, 1 and 2 might not need answering.
    Thanks.

The altitude doesn't necessarily affect hangovers, but it can affect your initial tolerance. Drink a bunch of water and watch your intake a bit more than normal.

How feasible is hitting a bunch of places? Very much so. Funkwerks, FCB, Snowbank, Odell, New Belgium, Coopersmith's, and Equinox are all close enough where you can walk between them without even being in shape. If Pateros Creek is/was still open, you could include them too. The Mayor and Choice City are right there, too. If you had a bike it would be even easier. No tour even needed - just rent a bike somewhere and use Google maps. You can see 1/2 of them from one another. Some other places like Horse & Dragon, Black Bottle, and Zwei are a bit further, but still mostly feasible. A good plan (if you have a car) is to hit Zwei on your way into town while you have a car, since it's all the way down off Harmony. H&D and BB are still in easy biking range.

And FYI if you stay at the Armstrong Hotel (above Choice City) a bike is included.
