    Hello everyone,

First time posting on BA. At the end of may we'll be heading to Key West for our honeymoon. Flying into FLL and driving down to Key West. Looking for some good beer stores not too far out of our way to stop at on on way down. Looking for Funky Buddha, Cigar City, J Wakefield etc...

Any good suggestions? I think I saw someone say Checker's in Florida City has a large selection

    Congrats!

Yes, Checkers is pretty good. Summerland Wine & Spirits at about MM25 is usually worth a stop and once in Key West, Faustos grocery stores and the Restaurant Store are the main places for to go bottles.

Let me know if are looking for anything in particular, let me know.

If you search this forum there should be a lot of info on where to drink and get bottles from Broward County to the Keys.

Since you are flying into FLL I would go to the Total Wine on Cordova Rd in Fort Lauderdale which is not that far from the airport. You should find a good amount of Cigar City and Funky Buddha beers there to take with you. For J Wakefield you'll have to visit the brewery in the Wynwood neighborhood of Miami about 30 minutes South of FLL. Call to find out what they available for purchase. Keep in mind this will be a detour on your way to Key West. The fastest route would be to skip Wakefield and take the 595 to the Turnpike, follow signs to Homestead and the Turnpike ends at Florida City and it's Hwy US1 the rest of the way. Enjoy your trip!

My favorite local beer bar in Fort Lauderdale is Riverside Market. A little hidden self serve beer bar with good food.
