ELD sounds like absolute fire, but isn’t release on 2/5, with no member presale? Got the inside connections?

I know Moksa is leagues above BL, but at 21% Fundamental Therom was a mess for me.

 

I’m hoping that their claim that it “tastes as if it were half” the alcohol content is true.

 

Nope, I have not. Though have heard very similar things to the quality of Moksa's barrel program

I haven't had a single beer by Moksa that even came close to mid-tier BL. Just because BL volume is way higher doesn't make its quality inferior.

 

Moksa was definitely one of the surprise stars of the SP Invitational last year. I can only comment on their stouts/BW from last year, but I’d have to agree that they are by far the best BA stout/BW brewery in not just California, but probably the entire west coast. Midnight Abundance, Duplexity: PVW23 & WLW, Elijah’s Creed, Soulful Memories, etc were all incredible

 

It's funny that BL does all the crazy pastry stuff that sounds gimmicky and goofy, but it's Moksa whose beers are acridly sweet and messy. I don't get the love, at all. BL's barrel integration is far better than almost anyone in the game, particularly when you consider all the shit they often add to their beers. But their clean beers are top tier.

 

Heard wonderful things about Deprecophobia, which I’m still trying to acquire. Static Momentum was great, but I still preferred Moksa’s non-adjuncted BA stouts. Hypermash Hydra will always hold a special place in my heart, but yeah, I really cannot stand berries & a bunch of the other stuff they’ve added to their stouts.

 

Put Arcane Rituals on your radar too, though not a stout, one of the best beers I've ever had.

 

I’ve had a lot from both, it took moksa a bit to start rolling but they had a large string of real bangers, especially last years stuff (green wax stuff). BL is solid for sure but I’ve had more mediocre beers than hits from them
