Ft Wayne, Grand Rapids, Battle Creek, & Kalamazoo

    Next week I will be driving from Columbus, and hitting all of these areas during the week. My end destination will be Wellston, MI to fish at Tippy Dam. I was looking for some good bottle shops that might have some stuff we can't get in Ohio. I will be stopping by a couple of the breweries up there as well to fill growlers, and to eat. Looking for some hidden gem beers that might be local or people just don't know about and beers that normally might not get distributed in OH due to being above 12%. Thanks

    If a beer that is labeled exactly at 12% is not sold in Ohio then you can look for Arcadia's Shipwreck Porter which was released a month ago. There should be some still on the shelves at good bottle shops, and I think the brewery (in Battle Creek) still has some. Horrocks in Battle Creek has some things hang around a little longer than most stores so you could find some good beers there. Check out their bargain table too.

    Shorts Brews are distributed only in Michigan, and they have been knocking us out with new great beers about every 3-4 weeks. Check out the recent threads in this forum to see which recent releases might interest you. HopHeadHerman usually announces these releases.

    Battle Creeks Mega Bev is an excellent Bottle shop as well!
