Well at least all the employees get a vote here.
    Hoping they vote no.
    I think i would..the money goes into a 401K? For each person.
That sucks, give me the cash i will choose were to invest if i voted YES.

It's interesting to look at this from the viewpoint of the employees. If they vote yes, what exactly do they lose?

If it were me... and I thought by voting yes I would continue to have my job, at the same or similar rate of pay, and I would receive a sizeable payout from the sale of the company, then I have to admit it would be very, very difficult to vote no.

If it goes to your 401k its tax free until those funds are removed. If you are looking at a $1 million ownership stake, you could be looking at a 250-400k tax hit. My guess is they also structured the ESOP in such a way to reduce taxable earnings, so the company could be looking at a big tax hit if things are structured differently. If it were me, I would borrow against it, pay my mortgage off, and then repay my 401k slowly. But since this isn't TaxAdvocate, they should reject this deal since the company wanting to buy them is just going to flip them to the highest bidder.

I have a 401K and i hate the fact that its good money just stuck there until i retire.
Its so limiting if you want to do other things.
And reading my prospectus again..the pay out amount per year is assuming as a male i will live to 92 not a chance in Hell.
But hey its free money ( employer match) so why not even though i think 401Ks suck and are to benefit the stock market rather than the retiree.

No, Full Sail just contract brewed Weinhards for them until they decided to take it national for some reason.

lol, not like full sail is that great anyway. Well at least the places being bought out aren't all that great... I would really freak out if say block 15 or fremont sold out... NIGHTMARES

... It is rather interesting that the Oregon Investors are confidential. I wonder why this is? I mean I'd like to know who, thought this stuff had to be disclosed.

Full Sail makes some good beers, though. Always been a fan of their Alt.

How is this any different than many of the local breweries being owned by private investors?

My point is that we have no problem supporting local breweries that are owned by private investors, so why stop supporting Full Sail just because they went the same route. At least it's not AB InBev buying them.

I'm not talking 100% owned by private investors if that's what you're thinking. Although some may be 100% owned, I don't know. What I'm saying is a lot have silent investors that we have no idea who they are, and we don't care to know about them.

I think it's because these type of investment firms often flip their purchases in 3-5 years. Also I think people are worried about the chance of cutting corners, more worried about maximizing profits/worried about bottom line more than quality. And maybe also because the firm now owns them, not as silent investors. Irene & Co. said they stay on at least a year but don't know past that.

I'm hoping they will now have more money available to start brewing more creative beers. Get a good barrel program going like Firestone Walker. Right now they're pretty much beer made for beginner craft beer drinkers.
