Over the past few years one of my go-to beers has always been Fuller's London Porter. Lovely beer with strong chocolate/coffee notes. Delicious. But the past couple of times I've bought it I noticed that the flavors have declined substantially. I even bought an old dusty sixer to do a side by side to confirm. It's still delicious but it was one of my favorites and now I feel like I've lost something.

    A. Is it possible that the batch just happens to be not as good? I can't imagine Fuller's intentionally decreasing beer quality to save money.
    B. Has this happened to any of you with one of your favorites?

It's probably you that's changed and not the porter.

I considered that.. that's why I bought the old six pack and tried them both. I really don't think I'm imagining this.

Was one of my favorites and a quality example of the style, but I stopped buying it a few years ago when it starting showing up at $13 a sixer. Way to many other English Porters for $10 or under still.

How old was the dusty 6? Not a beer I'd think of as long-lived. Could that be it? Another possibility I hate to contemplate is that maybe they're just missing the mark because they seem to be making less of it (my impression from having a hard time finding it in pubs) in its home market.
