Along that line, my wife and I visited a bar some time ago which boasted a 50 tap line up. From a distance we could see a DFH tap handle but not sure which one so of course we asked the bartender. He went over and looked and came back to say "Um, it's the Dogfish Head Craft Brewed Ale".....yeahhhhh, we'll have one of them....

Love when stuff like this happens. I was at a restaurant by my house that has a top-notch selection of beer. From where I was sitting I could not make out the tap list written on the chalkboard but I was pretty sure one said Bam Biere. I asked the waiter which Jolly Pumpkin he had on tap and he said "I dont want to disappoint you, but that is not actually a pumpkin beer."

Reminds me of a time I was at a fairly new bar by my house. I saw a Lost Abbey tap handle and asked the waitress what Lost Abbey beer was on and she responded with its Lost Abbey by Stone.

The things people call Gumball head are ridiculous. Can't tell you how many time's I've been asked for chewing gum or bubble gum beer.
I also get a kick out of people calling 312 3twelve

Apparently, the proper way to say Oude Gueuze is "oo-da goo-za" or something. Isn't that FUNNY?

when picking up Oui Oui at Provisions the person told me she heard it was suppose to be pronounce "whey whey". Having taking numerous years of French i tried to tell her it was "wee wee". What she was confused about is Ouais, which is their form of "yeah". So instead of the beer being "Yes Yes" it would be "Yeah Yeah". We compromised and called it Ouais Oui

I set my brother-in-law up as a RS trustee for someone since he lives real close to the Bruery Provisions. One of the beers he got as a thank you was a 3F oude gueuze. When talking to him on the phone he kept saying "old guys".

For a while I thought Gouden Carolus was Golden Carolus. Just like I thought Cutty Sark was Cutty Shark. :slight_frown:

That reminds me of how Beetlejuice spelled his name, Beetleguise.

Beetlegueuze. Holy crap that would be an epic name for a beer, now I want to make a gueuze jusft for that reason.

So I must ask, what is the proper pronunciation of Belgo (I am usually a bell-joe pronunciation myself)

And for Nøgne Ø I always listen to this guy:
