Fun Beer Mispronunciations or Misinterpretations

    Actually whey is the slang way to say wee in French now. :grinning:

    If it's writte oui oui, then its wee wee. If it was ouais ouais, then whey whey would be in order.

    I walked into a package store, went to the craft beer section, turned around and asked the owner if they had Maduro Brown, and he points and says, "I don't know. The humidor is over there."

    isn't it the same as saying "yeah" in stead of "yes". Same meaning (formal/informal) but different pronunciations and spelling? Though your experience is more in-depth than mine, I have only visited France for 10 days.

    I feel like they are both "Yes" but Oui(wey) is like a lazy version/dialect of Oui(wee). Imagine a southerner saying Yes, its more like "yus". Again slang, so you would never type is "ouias" in a formal essay I'd imagine.

    I feel like they use the slang version to keep the conversation faster, a little easier for the mouth to form.

    the best one ive heard was a woman saying in an offended voice "i cant believe you dont have Genesis" she clearly meant guinness and i couldnt stop laughing

    If you are familiar with French pronunciations of words/letters, simply apply them here. "Roash-fohr" with the r's eminating from the back of the throat...aka, "phlegmy"

    I often hear people mispronounce Lagunitas.. and they tell you how to pronounce it on their labels!
