OK, I know this is from ages ago but I just found this thread. All my French pronunciations I attribute to being an NHL fan and years ago there was a Dman on the Quebec Nordiques (damn, I'm so dating myself) named Norman Rochefort (pronounced by the great commentator Dan Kelly as Nor-mahn Rowsh-four), so that's how I pronounce it. Then again, most people called the Russian winger Sergei Makarhov (Mak-a-rov) while Kelly called him Mah-kar-ohv. The 3 game series of Canada vs Russia in the 87 Canada Cup were probably the 3 best games of hockey I've ever seen, and Kelly used to call all the games when USA network had the NHL back in the day.
Also, I thought it was Cahn-tee-yohn. Again, all my French coming from the NHL.
Want to hear a funny one not beer related? Why the bloody hell can nobody pronounce Kassers Vodka? I've heard it called Kesslers, Kessers, Kaisers (Keyser Soze!), Kasslers, etc. Everything but Kassers? WTF? I guess when you drink turpentine liquor it fucks with your brain cells and affects you.

The other night at a restaurant I was at that had a pretty nice craft beer selection, I heard the waitress call a Duvel a "duvet" (like the cover that goes on a bed) when she handed the gentleman his beer. I nearly spit out my beer and as I enjoyed a hearty belly laugh while some of the nearby patrons and the waitress looked at my like I had just grown a 3rd eye. Apparently, they didn't find it as funny as I did.

So, how does one pronounce Ola Dubh? I'd be inclined to say "oh-luh DUB." I'd probably get funny looks.

Had a "misinterpretation" issue at a flying saucer recently.

They didn't have most of the beers I was asking for off their menu and the girl asked what style I was looking for- told her an IPA or an Imperial IPA.

"Oh we have that Stone Imperial Russian Stout"

No Joke I work at red lobster and when we first got Stella another sever says to me "What's a Malh malh?" So I told her to go ask the table again because I had no clue. She comes back and she says "He wants to smell a Malh malh and it says we have it on the menu" I almost peed my pants...
I made the one bar owner re write his beer list because he had Olivia instead of Ovilia.

On the bottom of their 4-pk holders (as well as on their website) it shows the pronunciation as "you-IN-tah." It also explains what Uinta means.
