VIP tickets are $100 and include early access (6-7p.m.) to beers and brewers, food and sour pairings from a collaboration between Chef Cardiff of Wicked Weed and Chef Terry from Wrecking Bar in Atlanta, Ga., special VIP hour entertainment and a a free entry into a drawing for a nine night BeerTrips.com tour to Prague, Bamberg, Cologne and Brussels.

General admission tickets are $80 and the doors open at 7p.m.

So the tickets just went live. Anyone go last year? It is quite a solid line up but worth the price of admission? Also so much for the $5 fee charge. More like 11.50. Thanks

Was a lot of fun last year. I feel like I got my money's worth as there was a lot of really great beer and was a good time. Everyone's calculus is different though.

Is it safe to assume the price of admission covers samples while you're at the event or do u have to pay for those at each booth too?

What you are seeing is the servicing fee for eTix PLUS 7% sales tax.

    I... don't... even...

Yeah, the price covers all the beer you can drink while you're there  As @Dil_thebeerdrinking_do says, its a beer fest. Includes some food as well (though don't count on it being dinner or anything... plus who the heck wants to stop for food when there's so much ridiculous beer around?).

Thanks for the replies although I don't really understand the snark. Darklord day has GA tickets that u end up paying ~$40 for a ticket and still have to pay for every drink at the booths unless u bring some in yourself or share w people. Idk why it'd be an unreasonable question, especially since its a fundraiser for cancer.

This looks awesome, although it really makes me wish I could've gone the first year when they had it at the Funkatorium. Having to shuttle out to the production facility in Candler kind of sucks, but I guess the cat is out of the bag and it's too big to be held in Asheville proper now.

I went last year and it's a great event. The Funkatorium got very crowded after the VIP session so perhaps the new location will be more spacious.

Mainly because they're about the only place that does it like that, plus they have more expenses to pay (don't they have bands and stuff?). Pretty much every festival in the country you pay for a ticket, show up, and drink whatever is on offer. I guess if Dark Lord Day is your only experience you might not know that. Thanks for getting past the snark though

It's definitely not the only beer festival I've been to and was at another just 2 wks ago that the price of admission didn't cover drinks at the event (and it was a small, low overhead event). But oh well, thanks for the info...

I went last year. I am disappointed the ticket prices went up so much this year compared to last year, and that it's not at the Funkatorium, but its for a great cause and the selection last year was amazing. My partner and I both got our full worth of the VIP tickets, but I don't think anyone in particular ran out before the general session.

I would probably go again this year, but was able to get tickets to the VT Brewer's Festival which is the same weekend.

That's just... weird. I'd be kind of ticked if the price of admission didn't cover drinks... especially if the price of admission was more than $10 or so.

It sounds like a terrific event with a great crew of folks. Beer, a good cause, and a bunch of nice people, who's losing?

the only time I've paid as I went at a fest was the Oregon Brewers guild event, but there was no admission fee, you paid for the glass, like 5 bucks, then bought chips mainly $1, rare $2. that event was nice because you could come and go as you please and it was 3 or 4 days long

Have my VIP ticket, went last year, learned a LOT about sour beers and the Gose. Great event, great cause, definitely on my go to list every year.
