Was unaware of this. I'll definitely give this one a shot next time I go on a beer run, which will most likely be next Thursday or Friday.
I have a couple of bottles but am yet to open one. Will be my first Funkwerks beer. Everyone seems to love them so it's about time I give them a go.
i had one last weekend. decent, but nothing too memorable. expected more tart, less saison, but didnt get it. followed up w/ an ac golden apricot that satisfied my tart beer craving.
I haven't had fruition but the overall sentiment seems to be in line with my experiences. Everything that I have had from them has been solid, interesting complexity, nicely balanced, but nothing that totally blows my mind.
I wasn't a fan of this at all. Pretty underwhelming fruit notes and kinda one demenional. Crooked staves persica and AC goldens peche/apricot are much better
Opened ours last night, and I can't help but agree with everyone else. Not horrible, but pretty disappointing. For a beer with "fruit" in the name, it's barely perceptible. The peppercorns give it a weird twang, too. I like most everything that comes out of Funkwerks, but you can't win 'em all. I hate to be "that guy," but it seems like some of their seriously stellar fruit items are taproom and special location (a la Rackhouse) only.
Have to agree with Domingo, the best FW beers thus far have been tap only brews. I really enjoyed that strawberry hibiscus one they had a few months back. Bottled stuff is just....well, saison. Not bad, but nothing I'd seek out and spend 11$ on. I usually end up liking about 1 out of every 4-5 of their beers I try, but I always give the new ones a shot. Tried Fruition on tap today...real big "meh" impression.
I dunno, I thought it was good. As my Welsh friend says, "it is what it is". To that I asked, "well, what is it?" His reply fits: "a nice, slightly fruity summer beer" It's not tart, not sweet. Easy drinking, nothing bad about it.
Just cracked my bottle open. I quite enjoy this. I get the backlash as a beer named FRUITion should be quite a bit more fruit-centric but, exluding St. Lupulin, this is probably the best summer brew I have tried this season (granted, it isn't a huge list). Definitely hits the spot for me, personally. Probably not a $10/$11 beer like the price tag suggests but I have no problems having spent that money to check this out. I'd drink this again.
